That's exactly it an the same reason we get nothing from referees. The media have a greater influence than most think.
 
Anyone reckon that United's deals starting to get over the line is a catalyst for our "Taxi for Txiki" brigade?

Fuck it, I say promote Kean Bryan. He's great and he will just as good as Delph if not better one day.

His job has more to do with convincing players/agents that City is the place to be and he's pretty good at that if all the ITK info is to be believed. To be fair, anyone mentally weak enough to get swayed by that sort of shite isn't the sort you want at the club anyway. If you can't handle the media not licking their arse, City is probably not the club for you.
 
If he doesn't have enough self belief to back himself then I'm glad he isn't coming now. A good player but he obviously shat himself at the last minute.

Still 7 weeks till transfer window shuts .

And here you see the power of the media. he's fallen for the media bollox. That said, if he didn't have the confidence or self belief he could make it as a regular then he was not the right player for us.
 
it's not the fact he isn't joining, but the fact we got turned down by Delph (who really cares, he's nothing special) when the deal was practically done. That's shambolic and 3 years worth of banter for others.
 
I never really rated this guy as more than a useful squad addition but for £8m and given he's HG probably well worth a punt.

The problem is I think the penny has dropped with Delph that's exactly how the club also viewed him.

I'm a bit pissed off but at least it's £8m more to play with for the other, major targets.
 
What is concerning is the lack of home grown alternatives..the others would all cost an absolute fortune and potentially mean its a stretch too far financially to land some of our other targets. Back up keeper wise Hart has already said willy has helped him enormously..so dunno about that changing. Fucking hg quota damaging us just as much as ffp..twats. Sorry about this deal going tits up. Think it was our most sensible option..ah well..come on txixi..

meh.... would have been a bit-part player.

Good luck to the lad, he will play every game he is fit there, there would have been times here when fully fit he wouldn't have even made the bench.

Totally understandable decision.

Yep. Bang on. He's totally bottled it due to the pressure of the media in the past twenty-four hours telling him it'd ruin his life if he joined City. Pathetic really innit?

At the same time, he's clearly not got the balls for it so I guess we move on.
