does anyone know if he has a history of hamstring problems?

I dunno if he had hamstring problems but early in his Aston Villa career he was a serious sick note. Ankle trouble, Cruciate ligaments you name it he had it. But seemed he got over all that so lets just hope this was a freak one off.

Fabian Delph on Instagram. Hopefully it really is a "minor setback"!

Looks terminal.

One of the comments is hilarious...

A team should stick together through the good times and the bad times. Leaving Delph in my opinion is an insult. If it was Villa they would wait for him yet these guys leave him. Hope Delph sees the "love" he is being shown
It's football....not war :-)

Similar to others, when should we expect to hear an update on his status? Is it safe to assume he will be out for 6 weeks? I guess Manuel will make some comments when he knows...

Hamstring injuries have varying different grades of seriousness, each with a prognosis that differs in terms of recovery time, it will all depend exactly what Delph has done to his. Grade 1 is a strain, and can be recovered from in a matter of days, grade 2 is a partial tear and can take weeks to recover, grade 3 is a full tear, and can take months to recover. By the sounds of it Delph's is closer to Grade 2 than anything else. I suspect we're talking near the end of August before he's able to return to first team action. With getting "match fit" as well I think a decent bet will be a return after the International break (which encompasses matches on the 5th and 8th September for England).

Delph was only with us for a few days so I'm not his injury can be linked to anything we do as a club?

The lack of any news from the club (unless I missed something these last couple of days) is worrying. If it is only a "minor" injury, wouldn't the club have said so by now?

I tend to think the opposite.

If it was bad, he would have had a scan days ago and news of the results would be up on th OS for all to read.
