Transfer deadline day

Gutted they are getting Navas. Extremely good keeper who united fans will not appreciate at first and then make out they always knew how good he is when he proves his worth.
Are you basing this on seeing him in the World Cup?

He has played over 10 league games once in the last 4 seasons and he averaged conceding a goal a game in that season (granted he was on the receiving end of a 7-0 pasting v Barca.)

They signed De Gea for £19m and are selling him for £22m after he undoubtedly improved into a world class 'keeper. Yeah, great business.

Totally agree with this. ManUre have got Navas and money, they've definitely got the better end of the bargain because Navas is in the top 5 keepers in the world imo.

must be a united fan with delusions that bad. premiership alone you have Hart, Cech, Courtois, Lloris, hell even Chelsea's no.2 is better, Begovic.

My second team is Levante so seen more of him than most. As soon as he got his chance at Levante he was class. Wouldn't say he's top 5 in the world but I would say his shot stopping is one of the very best in the world. Think he will initially struggle to command his area in the prem. Much better than Caballero. United have got a great deal for a player with a year left on his contract who was going to leave anyway.

Earlier heard them say that VanGaal refused to extend DeGae's contact so that he could get Navas instead.

I think United got a great deal .... but to say it was a masterstroke 18 months in the making with it going down to the last 5 hours that Real could do a deal....?

So you've got Hart, De Gea, Cech, Courtois and lloris who are all better than him and that's before you leave the Premier league.
Top 5 in the world is the kind of comment you see on redcafe as they desperately try and justify their atrocious end to the Summer.

Just been told that Navas had been "heavily incentivised" to join United.

Literally knowone wants to join them these days!

To be fair playing for Levante is completely different to Utd. He struggled to get any game time at Real and now he will fight it out with Romero at Utd.

Utd are significantly weaker without DDG.

Given he was in the last year of his contract and they've gotten a decent keeper as part of the bargain, it's not a terrible deal, but they're still coming out of the deal very much weakened by it. They've lost their player of the season whose performances won them points last season that they didn't always merit.

There was a lot of talk he didn't want to join them so something has had to change his mind. Or a few million somethings...
