Why do people think playing Navas over Nasri was such a factor, the only think Navas would have done for us is won us a few more corners after he repeatedly cannoned his low crosses off of the defenders legs. At the end of the day if we put the chances in the back of the net we win the game it's that simple, maybe Bony, Sterling and Silva weren't 100% and shouldn't have started but we still did enough to win that game.

absolutely agree with all of the above well said citysince88

Great assist by Pogba but how was he allowed to put that ball in?. Nobody any where near him. He had all the time in the world to line up the perfect cross. Sagna, Fernandinho, Nasri and Yaya all asleep.
The second goal was just a brilliant strike.

Nasri was in that side dare I say if Navas was on the pitch he would of stopped that cross going in and why Mancini was always having a moan at Nasri and benching him

Cuadrado and Evra starting for them, who were deemed surplus to requirements by Premier League sides. They've lost Pirlo, Vidal, Tevez from last year, and they were missing Khedira and Marchisio from last night too. 5 of last nights starting 11 were over 30 so whilst experienced also past their best. For me Chelsea are certainly better than Juventus (the start of this season is just a blip). Arsenal would give them a run for their money too.

I've heard some things in my time but this tops it. Stop being so arrogant and delusional. If those teams you listed were so good then why haven't they been successful in europe? Juve would win the prem by at least 10 points

We really aren't a better side then juve, if we were we would have won. They have been awful in serie a and are in poor form whereas we are flying in the league yet they still beat us and controlled the game, we had more possession but that's only because they let us. People need to realise that the prem has been terrible for years.

This was the only problem with the team sheet last night for me. I think Navas over Nasri.

Silva and Sterling will have better games than that and of course we was unlucky to not have a fit Aguero.

It's not all doom and gloom like some are suggesting on here.

I thought that Juve were average last night and were there for the taking - the Manager was at fault for us losing the lead and eventually the game as it was clear to me and everyone around me in the South Stand that Nasri and Bony should have been taken off at half time. Nasri holds up the game when it is flowing and Bony just doesn't suit our team or how they play.

Having said that it was a good night and we had a party over in the 'singing section' last night - hope that added to everyone else's enjoyment in the rest of the ground.

Still FAR too many Juve fans allowed in again - I wouldn't mind if they kept their heads down but they were fucking about and the stewards just walked past.

Yeah, Chelsea have a history of struggling in Europe.........apart from being Champions League winners in 2012, and Europa League winners in 2013 obviously.

I think you might need to stop partaking of the Colombian local produce if you think Juve wins the Premier league by 10 points.

To disregard juve as an average team is disrespectful for a team that reached a champions league final only last year

The starting point really is dead simple imo. Look at the 2nd goal Juve scored. A shot. Look at our best efforts outside the chances Sterling had. Two shots from Fernandinho, one from Yaya. When Mancini tried to park the bus vs Real Madrid & had everyone back, they just kept shooting until a few went in. We were lucky it wasn't ten. How did we score v Palace ? Nasri had a shot.

Stop Silva & Nasri from fucking about, & get DeBruyne etc to shoot instead. Then they have to come out to try & stop it, then Silva can fuck about in the space when they do.

I agree, but we were way to deep to be a constant threat, hence the lack of shots

Toure and ferna were within a few yards of each other through most of the game, one of them should have pushed further forward, and gave one of their DM's a problem, of whether to stay with silva, or go with toure

Our midfield made it to easy to defend against

Well chelsea won the prem by 8 points last season and an even worse an rag team won it easily a few years ago. I really think they would win as they are tactically better than everyone else in the prem

If we would have taken our chances we would have won, no doubt.
Bigger issue is we looked off the pace, bar Fern. Dave tried and for ten minutes in second half threatened to Magic a lot of threat but apart from that we were like United, passing it around the back.
It was a game crying out for more threat from our full backs and generally down the flanks - you know the sort, where Zaba cuts into the box from the flank behind the defence.
Our left side of Kola and Sterling was shackled but we had no threat down the right.
I was surprised Navas was benched as we all know that Nasri only likes the ball when he is facing forward - he doesn't like to receive the ball on the turn or go beyond a man (not that he has the pace). Sagan has had a good season but he's not an attacking threat.

Agree about the atmosphere. Was quiet although having thousands of fans outside at kick off didn't help (shambles by City operations team).

Not convinced Juve would win the PL but equally your post about there being several sides better than them in the PL is also patently nonsense.

Next you will be saying barca would struggle to make the top 10 in the great premier league.

Manager isn't to blame, the players are. Remember our manager was seconds away from taking malaga to the semi finals 2 years go and managed to take villareal to the semi finals. He has the pedigree, some of the players like yaya and nasri are an embarrassment at times

Nothing more can be said other than we were at best completely wasteful yet again in front of goal in this competition and at worst, abysmal for large parts of the game with virtually everyone having a stinker.

I couldn't give two fucks about the CL but i know the owner does and i know those that paid their money last night will have done but again we see a team and players looking like rabbits caught in the headlights.

We know how good they all are as we see it every week in the league but this competition has done for us mentally im afraid right now and i have no idea as to what the answer is.

Still scratching my head that the team i watched last night is the same team i have seen in the league 5 times this season already.

Baffling.

Thought id sleep before I come on with my rant but it ain't changed much! Manager not good enough not tactically aware enough for us to succeed at European level. Formation can not be played at that level we needed a holder behind diniho and yaya! Some players just not up to the level we need to succeed at that level sterling, bony, mangala, nasri, from last night's starting 11. Time to concentrate on the prem because all that's coming is another humiliation in the last 16 Unless pellers upsets a few players and sets up making us hard to beat especially when u go 1 up! I'd be tempted against the better teams to go in like this

hart

sagna
vinny
otemendi
kolarov

delph
diniho

kdb
yaya
silva

aguero

maybe even yaya out for sterling if we are going to press we need quick players around the pitch to press and yaya just doesn't fit that in Europe!
Rant over!
