Your claims are a bit too rigid. Debryne is not "just" a counter attacking player. He is a well rounded player who's quick thinking and movement suits any team. He is not like, say, Bale who is Tailor made for counter attacking football. Lots of athletism, speed and a great shot and cross on him, but less effective in tight spaces, and not much of a cultured passer or controller of the ball.

That description doesn't fit Kevin: Funny enough Kevin is actually a lot like Nasri in terms of movement off the ball, but additionally more aggressive with his passing thinking and decision making. He is a bit like Mueller in that regard. He will produce regardless of system.
i would say that description does fit kdb, to a certain extent. he certainly isn't as technically assured of cultured as nasri. agree he is a more aggressive player in terms of what he does with the ball, but again, i feel that would suit a direct side more than it will suit us. we can clearly still make use of his abilities, as seen on the counter against spurs, but i feel there were better fits out there for that money

Wonder if Nasri_Fan has posted anything positive at all on this forum, off to the Nasri thread!

don't think i've posted on there ironically. will be full of praise when he bosses newcastle, naturally

Not much to speak about recently for him to be fair, Nasri's out is he not? And he'd have to be playing the number 10 role to boss a game!

yeah think he's out actually. in that case, i can't wait for him to boss whoever we play after the international break

Starting to hit top form now that he is starting to settle into the team. Covered more ground than any of our players. Worked his socks off most of the game and scored a great goal.

The combination of Kun, Merlin and Kev is scintillating.

looked a lot more comfortable on the left and linked up much better with Kolarov. Great great goal.

i tell you what though, he is surprisingly inaccurate with his short passing! (moan moan moan eh)
