comparable game v newcastle last season 40752, i expect to beat that tonight
Will be interesting to compare the numbers of City fans and Utd fans at the game tonight. Might be a closer than a lot of their fans would like to think.

Well 'Boro have sold over 10,000 - take that off their gate and it could be close. Still expecting about 60,000 at theirs and about 42,000 at ours which would be 50,000 and 40,000 respectively. United fans don't have an automatic cup scheme for the League Cup but unless things have changed the penalties for not being in their League Cup scheme are huge as non cup-schemers aren't allowed to apply for tickets should they reach the final. My boss paid the price on that one a few years ago - he spat his dummy out about constantly forking out 40-odd quid for LC tickets so opted out in the 2009-10 season and lo and behold they got to the final that year. Needless to say he opted back in the following season.

How do you know boro sold that many, need to know as ill be arguing about the empty seats with the plastic rags later

10,000 Boro? Shocked with that. So Utd still a big game for other clubs then. Unlike City going off the visiting numbers at our place.

'Boro haven't played United for over 6 years - if they were an established Premier League club there wouldn't be anything like as much novelty about their game tonight and they'd be bringing a similar amount down to Old Trafford that Palace are bringing to ours. Have a look at 'Boro's home attendance from the FA Cup 4th round win against United in 2002 - 17,624 and that was with about 6000 United fans present.

If we get 45000 tonight - it will be impressive. No way will the rags allow the attendance not to be 73,000 ish tonight as they will want to make a point.

Take off 11,000 boro and a real 56,000 in attendance at the mouse trap and the stadium and we will be pretty much like for like.

We must have pretty much sold out the lower two tiers and the EL3 for City to open SL3 so that implies 40k plus whatever Palace bring and what we sell in NL3. I'll go for 41,500
