I hadn't seen anything of him before he signed for us, so I'm only going off what I've seen this season, but his game appears to be built around very quick decisions and first time passes and shots. When things go well, this leads to tons of goal-scoring opportunities and consequently a lot of goals, but if he's a little off, those quick passes tend to go astray and he's reduced to basically giving the ball away a lot.

id agree with this, a lot of his potency comes in very quick bursts of outstanding quality, resulting in goals/assists/dangerous build up. His general play around the pitch is actually not very spectacular and he is careless in simple possession. But, as me and a mate were saying, he produces a lot at the business end which is where it matters!

The simple stuff will come with time once he's fully used to the league and the other players. He does play a lot of sloppy passes that should be dead simple, especially when you think about his borderline superhuman through balls. The difference between him and some of the other players in the squad is that it doesn't appear to affect his confidence. He usually ends up immediately trying to win the ball back and then having the self belief to try again.

I hate to offer another Zidane comparison given their different playing styles but he was 24 when he left Bordeaux and struggled for consistency for at least his first season. The fact is that we've seen what Kevin is capable of and the simple stuff will come with time.

I think his biggest issue has been not having aguero in front of him. Bony isn't the type of player who looks to make runs behind the defence, therefore it doesn't bring the most out of KDB.

Last season in Wolfsburg, he had Dost and Lord Bendtner in front of him. He still got insane statistics despite having to deal with awful strikers in his team. No big deal for the kid.

Our best signing in the last few years by a country mile. Would have liked to have seen him play in the middle on Saturday though.

I'm not too upset as I think Dave is obviously at his best in the middle, so KDB getting used to playing wider is best for the team IMO.

Not sure if posted before...

David Hubert (played in Genk together with De Bruyne) was asked in an interview how he would describe De Bruyne. "A true artist when he gets the ball and as a person quite shy. But he always wants to win when he's at the field, even in training. When he was 16 or 17 years old, he trained for the second or third time with the first team of Genk. That training he asked Barda (who was the star player of Genk at that moment) to run more. Legendary!"

Can I just ask mate, I noticed another lad, on another forum, say De Bruyne was asked about his wage when he first came here during an interview at his home. Apparently he was asked how he felt at being given £250k a week, did he think it was ludicrous, to which he answered "of course, but would you say no?".

Apparently this interview was in Dutch and was on TV in Belgium, I think.

Is this true? Can you recall the interview? Have a link or an article to it?

I only ask as I put this to the other lad and he couldn't find me a source, not sure whether or not he was bullshitting or not.

I notice you post in here a lot and would probably know of all the interviews he did in Belgium when he came here.

Cheers.

About his wages starts on 1:16, roughly translated:
Q: 300.000 euro per week, isn't that a whole lot of money?
A: That's a ridiculous amount of money, but I'm in a society that revolves about money. And if you look at it form my perspective, it's extremely hard to refuse.

Still not as much as Wooney gets.

What part of my post makes you think that you've even registered on my emotional radar, let alone impacted it in any significant manner? You're noise on the internet. I can tune you out with the press of button. ;)

Heaven forbid! Well, why you going on about shit-house supporters and what people might say, when no one's said anything of the sort yet? Why not just cross that bridge when it comes to it (if that ever happens) and just deal with the points being made currently"?

Erm.... I understand money being a big factor in any player's decision to move but this does make me a little uncomfortable.
