Villa Vs City Post Match Thread

Today reminded me so much of the Sunderland new year game when the Chinese player scored, today we had enough chances to win 3 games, their were for me a lot of factors why we didn't win, the biggest was the first half performance, playing a very slow containment gave them the belief they could get something out if It, the second half they were very clever in their time wasting especially their goalkeeper, they knew we would up the pace so every chance they had to slow it down they did. No side ever won a game by missing half a dozen chances? I've no doubt we will lift the title even though we have only taken 11 points from 18 but without our main players, but today was the new manager syndrome for villa he's got them playing I thought they did really well considering the amount of chances we created, like pellers said one of those games but for me too much like the Trafford one !

I have no problem with people being disappointed but it's the over reaction displayed by some that is start to annoy and it's worse than ever now

We can blame the referee and bad luck all we want. Short of Jesus riding in on a unicorn and pulling on a Villa shirt that was a game that we should have won and would have won if he had not been for the Bizzaro World substitutions. I don't like to say it but I don't think we can't keep on gambling on which Toure turns up. Or at least, when it's Old Stroller instead of Mr Unstoppable, he should be substituted early in the second half.
And yes, when playing a team like Villa you do need at least one striker on the field the whole game.

Shirley he is a great player when he wants to play, however he can also be the most frustrating individual on the pitch with his half hearted approach a large part of the time. He earns fantastic money, to give if possible 100% most of the time but in my view, which I am entitled to make he doesn't. Obviously we have a difference of opinion and unfortunately that's where we differ, And that was made without getting personal as I have quite a few good friends around me in the South stand.!! Night Night.
 
Fuck me there are some mard arses on here today, sure this was a game you would expect ant potential champions to win and we failed. however we did most thinks right. Villa made no real threat to us and we created a number of clear chances. We cant blame Pelle because Stirling and KDB couldn't finish today, for all we know we may win the league by this point today.
 
Awful ponderous first half performance. Much better in the 2nd and possibly unlucky not to win but oh deary me.
The Lord mayor's show was on Tuesday so I was expecting a Typical City performance and I got one.
IF we keep dropping points like that that the title is gone.

SWP, he's been tactically out thought over the last 2 seasons, by the likes of Pardew, Allardyce and Van Gaal.

Today he's set up exactly the same against bottom of the league Aston Villa as he did against a dangerous Sevilla.

We looked lethargic and slow after 5 minutes and anyone with any ounce of sense could see the kind of performance that was coming today from those first five minutes.

I've supported City since before I can even remember, no matter how frustrating they can be, I'll still support them.

And I stand by my rights to moan about the team when they haven't been good enough. And today we weren't good enough partially because Pellegrini got the tactics, formation and, especially, his subs wrong!
 
No aguero and silva - dropped 4 points and progressed on cl I expected worse than that Hopefully no new injuries and we get through Christmas still top then power on to winning it!
 
I think we were really poor today. We started off so slowly and sluggish. It meant that when we did start stringing some good attacks together villa had something to hold on to. I also feel that when Pellegrini makes his changes He doesn't actually have a proper plan. Anyway the positives are that we are still 4 points better off against the same teams as last season, we have silva and aguero back soon and we know we can do better.
 
Maybe MP should have rotated today ,easily said after the event , with clichy and delph being fit it would have given more energy to the team , a few have said the team looked jaded , but hopefully after the international break , we will have a virtually full squad to pick from , and that when MP will earn his money.
 
Disappointed with the result but we absolutely bossed the game, missed a few sitters and after that great great win in the week in Spain, and meeting a team experiencing new manager bounce and a lot of luck, then its perhaps understandable. Certainly forgivable.

We move on.

It could be worse. We could be as dull as the rags, as mentally weak as Arsenal, as far behind as Chelsea, as deluded as scousers...

We lost points against teams who were fighting relegation, so I think after three games you can see we have learned those lessons..

We play sublime football against a far superior team midweek in CL then play like this against Villa no wonder people on here are upset and bemused, those stating but look where we are in the league bullshit fuck that attitude (small club mentality) It should be look how far ahead we are...

And yeah, go on and check my posts, because I can be as positive as the next Blue when we deserve it.

Except when I'm positive my comments are completely ignored and my negative ones are held up for scrutiny!
