Attacks in Paris

I think when it comes to France there are a number of issues with their immigrant population and the total lack of integration and the levels of poverty and unemployment and the feeling of isolation that extremists feed on

wasn't last summer there were nightly pitched battles in the suburbs of Paris where there are estates of tower blocks full of disaffected mostly North African descended youth? Mostly muslim - cars on fire - tear gas the lot? That will be a massive breeding ground for radicalisation.

Everyone is a political genius on here, aren't they?

Who needs world leaders when you have a collection of fans on a football forum that argue like fuck about how countries should conduct themselves.

Fucking hell.

Thoughts to the families of those who have lost loved ones tonight in Paris.

What the fuck do you want to see him for? He's issued a statement. Perhaps he should say "Now stop it at once or I'll tell your mums and take yur Playstations off you".

You're being a complete idiot and that's the last thing we need on here tonight. Now grow up or piss off.

It's all Daves fault mate come on get on board !

Perhaps you should read a book on terrorism prior to 9/11. And terrorism became a lot easier with the rise and advancements of technology

Also, these countries that have had the Arab spring are now pretty much no go zones....perhaps it takes crazy despot leaders to keep crazy warring tribes in check?

I don't profess to be any sort of expert in this, just from my own experience i was never really aware of any any terror threat prior to 9/11, in fact if you had asked me to name a terrorist group prior to 9/11 i would have instinctivly said the IRA, Looking back now I do question if the situation would have been different if Saddam and Gadaffi were left to control their countries.

I opposed those wars. But this is different. Isis is nothing like anything we've faced before.

I beg you to read this. It's the most celebrated, comprehensive account of Isis' motives ever published for the public

People inside the theater are communicating with journalists. One journalist on CNN said his sources indicate the people inside are begging the French to raid the theater. The hostages takers aren't there to negotiate.

Ta, I wouldn't trust CNN tho, they are liable to make shit up to get ratings.

Am sticking with BBC for now.

not tory bashing pal.........not seen him on mainstream tv......have you?
I dont particularly want to. I would much rather he be in an urgent conference with the intelligence community than talking to a journalist asking him questions that he wont have the answers to until he talks to the intelligence community

That sort of shit needs stopping right now. Should be increasing the police and military budgets not cut it so we couldn't handle an attack when one comes.

well the ramping up of territorials hasn't gone at all well to make up the shortfall and I am sure the prospect of being rushed into a fight against ISIS wouldn't do a lot to cause a rush to the terriers. Then there is the Police - shedding officers hand over fist!! Makes us all feel really safe that we can respond to this sort of thing eh? If they time it right they could even get us when the doctors are on strike !!

Religion can fuck off
It's probably the most backwards thing in mankind. It's millennia out of date. It's mostly fictional bollocks.

The thing is a lot of this isn't about religion. It's about the have-nots being sick of the haves having and taking everything and wanting what they've got; money, land, power.

France under state of emergency and borders closed.

I get the impression from Hollande's rhetoric means they are going balls out to stop this and any other plots they may have a whiff of?

will happen here soon enough
It probably will, not sure we can stop them all, but unlikely on this scale, we have excellent intelligence, we've had lots of experience for decades, which is why so many plots have been foiled since 2005, and it is many, some reported, many not.

Most people on here don't have the first idea how good our intelligence actually is.
