Attacks in Paris

You may well be right, and if there are even more delays it may be 2021 before she is actually commissioned!
As someone else said, they might only be able to use harriers but who knows by then. Attack helicopters seem to be favoured.

Anyway, as any such action is likely to be in the Middle East, there is always Akrotiri, from where the Gulf War I and II strikes took place.

Cameron is positioning himself now. Expect the RAF bombing ISIS within the week.

I never mentioned Blair. War criminals are for another day. I'll carry on calling out the Zionists. Do a survey of British Jews and I am sure that 99% of them will support whatever crimes Israel commits against Palestinians. That's the difference between them and me. I don't want anyone to be the victims of crime or oppression.
I would say you're completely wrong and you have no basis in your opinion other than your apparent prejudice.

maybe if a few folk on here realised that 90+% of this planet's population have a religious faith and are not terrorists.
90+%? 65% of China (of which there are 1.4bn of them!), 40% of South Korea, 80% of Vietnam alone have no religion. The amount of atheists in South America has doubled in the last decade. That doesn't include all the many non religious people there are in Northern and Western Europe. There is not just 10% of this world who are irreligious.

Yep there's billions of atheists down in those internet portals and everybody in China is an atheist too. No Buddhists, no Taoists, no Muslims - only atheists everywhere you look. You really are a fantasist of impressive dimensions.

Of ffs. I thought you were packing this thread in at 11.59. I went for a run in good faith hoping we could continue sensibly and on topic. Imagine my disappointment and repressed anger at reading that you were not only unable to keep your promise, but exacerbated everything by posting utter shit like that. You carry on then mate, I will be the one to leave the thread, before I break my laptop

"It shows that on average 59% of the world said that they think of themselves as religious, whereas 23% think of themselves as not religious and 13% think of themselves as convinced atheists."

Mate your not doing yourself any favours on this thread, it seems that your implying some posters are being racist/bigoted with their posts, yet seem to post racist/bigoted posts yourself.

Hope not - RAF and RN Harriers were all retired from service in 2006
don't worry, the RAF still has the tornado to do the fighting, and of course the eurofighter to do acrobatic displays over Damascus for winning hearts and minds. Hopefully it will just be a case of dropping a few tons of 'freedom and democracy' on the baddies and we can all live happily ever after

Carrier aircraft aren't needed, we can launch plenty of our own firepower from nearby bases. The French launched their bombers this week from the UAE. Geographically Syria is more perfect than say Afghanistan or Iraq for swift airstrikes seeing as we are allied with more or less every single adjoining country to Syria and there is also the Med adjoined at Latakia.

Even some of the really heavy Russian bombers which took part in the big raid on Aleppo yesterday took off from Russia itself.

I don't think we will eventually join up with Russia to clean up the entire region though but rather run very specific raids on the ISIS strongholds such as Raqqa. Still though minimizing civilian losses in such areas and ensuring ISIS are pushed out will be nigh on impossible unless we are prepared to get boots on the ground.

Religious affiliation on a World wide scale, when compared to religious affiliation within the UK, seem to be on very different trends. According to the Pew Research Facility the religiously unaffiliated - referring to atheists, agnostics and other people who do not identify with a religion - are declining as a share of the world's overall population. However they also attest that, by 2100, it's distinctly possible that those who consider themselves to have no religion will outnumber the religious in the UK. In 2010 64.3% of UK residents were Christian, 4.8% Muslim and 1.4% Hindu, with 27.8% non-religious. By 2050 Pew estimates both Hindu and Muslim numbers will increase, to 2% and 11.3% respectively, however Christianity will decrease to 45.4%. Non-religious will increase to 38.9%. In fact, Europe as a whole, is expected to see a decrease, by something in the region of 100,000,000, of Christians by 2050. The Worldwide increase in religious affiliation by 2050 is attributed to the rampant growth in numbers of Muslims, facilitated by high birth rates, and high populations, in areas of high Muslim affiliation, such as western and northern Africa, the middle east, and the "stans" area of Asia (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan etc etc).

So, to summarise, overall religious numbers are on an upward trend, however this is primarily down to growth in the number of Muslims, predominantly in the 3rd World. The western world is seeing a decrease in the numbers of Christians, and an increase in the numbers of non-religious. It's entirely possible that, in 100 or so years time we'll see a western world which is more than 50% non-religious, and a third world which is 90%+ religious, with the vast majority being Muslim.

Thanks for your input. I haven't posted anything racist or bigoted. You'd just like to think that was the case.
