Local BBC skipped off to Alder Hey last night and we saw Leighton Baines going round a toy store with some young lad who had decided he wanted to repay the hospitalfor the time he had spent there (Well done, son). Roger 'SixFingers' Johnson (he is from Sjoke, I think) then said that in the interests of 'balance' we have got some Reds, so up pops Lalana, minus tub of Nivea, and Lucas. Fine, in the interests of balance! Great idea! We were also treated to a few moments of Stevie Starfish - I think he's one of the hospitals patrons - and then the next thing I see is some lad spread on a bed, get well soon, kid, clad in Rag shirt. I turned to Mrs Ewing and said "Wait for the City kid next"! I might have missed it as I turned to speak to her. Did the City kid get on?

One of the recent BBC Gossip Columns showed a Rag player at the Manchester Children's Hospital, which is nice. However, absolutely fuck all about the City squad who were there the week before!

I was only on about the BBC Gossip Column. I hope City got coverage in the Evening News, but I wouldn't know as I don't read it. Hopefully that young girl saw the light!
 
The Beeb on our alleged new badge refer to it mockingly as "looking like the Blue Peter badge". They have taken snippets from social media and quoted the most negative one. It is so clearly bias it is incredible.

Did they also show the same kids going to Klanfield to cheer Daniel Sturridge up?

When the city players visited the hospital surprised there wasn't a story about the money city have spent could have payed for blahblahblah at the hospital.
 
Has Mark Ogden ever said or written anything positive about City?

BBC going with the "Blue Peter badge" angle. Not enough for them to simply say the badge has been leaked.

It's great that all the clubs do this. The cynic in me does bristle at the cheesy and sycophantic media coverage that goes along with it, though.
If City's players went along to Alder Hey, fair play to them. If any other club's players did similar, well and good, too.
At the end of the day, it's only common decency, though. These guys do very well, thank you very much, and it's great that so many of them give a little back but it's a bit unsettling the way that such actions can often feel like cynical photo opportunism.
Maybe I'm over-sensitive or maybe it's the opposite and I'm just numbed by the way the media work these days.
Bah humbug!!
 
I can't help but notice that during united's recent episode of additional demise the feeling i get is that Sky are sympathetic to their plight - can you imagine the bile and glee that would be spouted if City were in a similar situation. It's like their favourite uncle is passing - why can't they just take the piss out of them ffs!?
