Everton post-match thread

The absolute nonsense I'm reading on here is beyond belief... are these really Man City fans who watched us when we were 'really' shit....More shots, more possession, blatant penalty not given and an offside goal to boot. We were unlucky tonight but I have absolute confidence we will turn them over at the Etihad, absolutely no concerns. The fact is win at home and we are through as I can't see a 3-2 for example and I certainly can't see us losing,

That said it would help if the fans actually support the team on the night.

More possesion? where did you get that impression from. Everton had massivly more possesion from what ive seen.

More shots? yes, shots wide yes. But not shots on the goal.

Sorry i don't want to come over all pessemistic, i'm a city fan afterall. Don't want to be unfair neither. But i think youre wrong in thinking we had more possesion and that our amount of shots actually reflects something regarding how well we played.

The manager did well. We were dreadful and he rightly took the 2-1.a 3rd goal would have put us out. As it is we'll get through now.
Do you reckon .
Play like we did tonight and we can kiss goodbye to the league cup .

Fucked off. Sat in Gwladys St having to sit on my hands all match. Not clinical enough and didn't take the game to them.

As others have said, half time and let's get at them at The Etihad.

All I saw before the game was man city fans saying Everton are crap and totally disrespectful comments

I would hope it teaches man city fans to become more humble

But sadly I highly doubt it, well done Everton totally deserved
Wasn't Sheffield Wednesday was it, you dick? Come back in May when you've won the title by 12 points!!!

The reason were shit at the moment is every other team works harder than us.
When we have the ball they have min 10 players behind it.
When they have it we have bout 7 which puts defence in back foot.
main culprits are sergio silva and toure
dont work hard enough without the ball
Opposite of peps vision of a team!

Ooooh just had a slice of lovely chocolate and caramel cheese cake with two scoops of vanilla ice cream nice

Everton have missed a trick here. We were shite after that first 20, and they should have mullered us. They aren't that good, we even made Coleman look like Messi at one stage we were so bad. We will finish them off at home, no doubts at all.

He/she won't be seen in this thread again

Cheers Dan. I'm all for opposition fans coming on here, but to come on and rub it in straight after the game. Cheeky **** should be fucked off from the forum, never mind the thread.

Finally someone with a rational take on the game. The lunatics have taken over the asylum in this thread. Absolute hysteria. It was a great game and it was Everton's cup final. 2-1 is an OK result with an away goal.

With respect

I'm sitting looking at the Lukaku winner. Barry crosses the ball with not one of our midfield within 10 yards of him. When I look for where our midfield line is, it's frankly pathetic, they are all ball watching. Dave 20 yards outside the box, Yaya in no mans land, Kev in the left back position but watching, Fernandinho in the defensive line but not marking just watching.

Our centre backs are too far apart. Otamendi is moving in the wrong direction. Martin is giving Lukaku 2 yards of space. We are an absolute shambles defensively. I think Pep arriving is going to be painful for some of this squad and some of our legends. Is it too much to ask that we organise ourselves ffs. Rant over. We may get to the final but we deserved to lose that game irrespective of yet another nailed on penalty not awarded.

Oh, really pleased for Jesus. Thank fck he buried that

Should say that individually I thought Oto played pretty well. My rant is against the organisation of the defence not the individuals. Was Mangala injured?

+1
this is what i want to say every time i read these threads... so thank you for expressing my thought so well... cheers
every game we've played... the team we face play out of their skin to match up... i would love to see real stats on how teams do right after they play us or exhaust themselves against us... i know Stoke, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc. certainly did not do well... to name a few...
90 more minutes to go...

We had more possession you knob. Check the stats.

What a bunch of pathetic, negative fuck-wits you lot are...

What has the club I love done to deserve such a bunch of wimpy, miserable, moaning gits as so called supporters?

Everton played well.

It was a great game of football.

It was played it a good, sporting manner.

It is only the end of the first half...

And, much to my utter delight, the hard working Navas scored (with his left foot).

City have no devine right to win every match they play.

Liverpool v City Final.

City win with Sterling scoring the winner in the 90th minute.

JJ.

Ah fuck off with that rubbish, seriously. We, as a club, are aspiring for great things and to compete with Barca, Bayern etc. We aren't producing anything anywhere near to the level we should be at and as supporters, we have a right to voice our dismay at how slow our attack is (with the fastest player in the country stuck on the bench for 90 mins) and even more worryingly, why the players don't seem to be arsed? This has been the major problem since the takeover and is something Pep will have to address. Time after time I hear pundits say that our main problem is we think we can just turn up and win games. How many nights at Goodison or the Stadium of Light does it take for our players to realise what level is required in this country?

That went a bit off track but still, surely we can be allowed a moan at tonights performance? Bar the first 10-15 mins, it was as abject as any away performance since Palace

Sorry but under the new rules Lukaku was offside despite what a bt sport pundit and two ex Evertonians tell you. He was clearly a distraction for our keeper and wasva mile offside. (And yes I do know beagrie played for us! )
