League Cup Final Ticket Allocation {merged}

I wouldn't have a problem if a cup scheme for non-ST holders were brought in and they were given equivalent priority based on points to ST holders not on the cup scheme, but then I'm a ST holder on the cup scheme:-)

oooh we're in another final so it's time for the (almost) annual "the ticket points system is not faaaaaaaaaaaaair.. i can never catch up and i'm 18 / or i've been going since 1960 but gave up under Pearce and only just came back" etc etc delete where applicable ;)

If season cards get passed on as they so often do (which is another debate entirely) how can anyone hope to catch up.

Can i just point out that when someone dies yes a family member can take over their seat BUT the points get wiped. The club are strict on this.

having perused the selling criteria and schedule on the club website it all seems pretty fair and well thought out

The midweek cup matches are the area where attendances and atmosphere can fall down. It is right that season ticket holders on cup schemes get priority but beyond that some recognition to non season card holders who have done every cup game in a season would help. As it stands you could do every midweek fixture / cup game and you would rank behind someone who has a season ticket and turns up only for big weekend games. That doesn’t seem right to me even though the season ticket is a much bigger financial commitment.

You have worded that better than I have.

This is something I would love the club to look at and I think would improve earlier round attendances/atmospheres.

As I said that's is another argument and not one I want to get into but... is there actually a person whos job it is to see if season ticket holders are actually alive?

Also i'm not saying "the ticket points system is not faaaaaaaaaaaaair.." i think on the whole for the Premier League its fine. I'm saying it would be great if they could add some sort of cup scheme to Citizens cards for people with a certain prior history or points.

Never a completely fair system when it comes to tickets but I do think there is some mileage in having non season ticket holders who regularly attend cup games having a chance of some tickets. Not sure how to work it though. Maybe non season ticket holders could have an option to join cup schemes in future years.

Every season I go to all the home cup games and any away ones I can get a ticket too. Manager at my work has a season ticket and hardly uses it, doesn't go to any cup games. The cost of the season ticket isn't much to him.

He'll get a Wembley ticket before me.

I think a separate cup scheme would be a good idea too.

I think your conspiracy theory is a bit off the mark, if the person is over 65 they are on a concession card, that cant be passed on and used by someone else like their adult child. Now according to you every year adult season ticket holders (not o65) die and their family all think in their grief i will keep their name going every year so that i can keep their points!!! I think you'll find the majority of season ticket holder deaths are over 65. Conspiracy over.

People could sign up for a league cup scheme that guarentees a wembley ticket for non season ticket holders and then find we're away every round til the semi.. hardly fair is it. Would cost them what £30 for a guarenteed jump the queue for wembley? And even if there were home games i think your own post gives away why it wont work - your boss pays £700 ish for a season ticket, hardly uses it, but will go to wembley... well people could pay £100 max for 3 or 4 home games in the league cup - doesn't mean they have to actually turn up for the games though does it, and they could then for only £100 jump the queue.

But i'm a season ticket holder on the cup scheme with 10700 points, so i guess what do i know eh.

I was joking.. As if someone would have that job. Also its a debate I don't want to get into as passing round season cards is something that happens at all clubs across the country always has and always will.

Although, thank you for taking the time to type an answer to my non-conspiracy theory as sarcasm can be hard to judge when typed.

On the other point you just made..

I agree with your points there completely. That is why they should offer it as a direct debit scheme and then qualification for tickets should be over a number of games within that cup over a set period of time but would still be behind Season Ticket holders on the cup scheme.

If joining the cup scheme meant all cups then that might be feasible.

I'd jump at the chance of getting a ticket for every home game in all cups that we are in with payment via Direct Debit (couldn't be charged at the start obviously).

I agree .
I was only a City card holder .
But I went to a lot of home games .
It's not easy getting tickets to a final .
I tried two years ago when we played Sunderland , but they sold out before going to city card holders .

I don't think the way this has done is fair TBH. As I'm not a season ticket holder (can't get on cup scheme) but a Citizen Card holder and have been to every single capital one cup match this season surely I should have priority over a season ticket holder not on the cup scheme who hasn't bothered going to any of the matches?
I agree, allocate according to who goes to the games. Then on points. But to be fair to the club, everyone is crystal clear on what the system is in August so no arguments really. The debate really should be had when we're out of both cups.

Joking about it being someones job to check? Yes of course you were. But joking about people passing on season cards when they're dead so no one can ever catch up? No, don't think you were, as you said it in 2 different posts.
So all i did was point out when an o65 is no longer with us that card cannot be passed on without city knowing. End of.
