Txiki & Pep met in Amsterdam yesterday

I hope we do get Bayern then we can see which players actually do give a shit as they would be playing for their future

So we brought in five senior players in MP's first summer. Jovetic, Fernandinho, Navas, Negredo, Demichelis.

Five or six this ssummer doesn't feel extreme when you look at it in that context.

MDM was bit of an afterthought if I recall. 3 or even 4 top quality acquisitions would be consistent this summer with another promotion from the EDS like Nacho this season. I just don't see a major overhaul as some are suggesting. It won't be a numbers game but a quality game in my opinion.

You can only surmise that it was for something very important. Maybe they needed to be in the same room together to talk to a player or an agent. Maybe there were 'final' decisions to be made which needed to be made face to face.

My thoughts exactly. This looks to me like more than a two man meeting. Bazoer... Willems?

I love the idea of them meeting up in Amsterdam to discuss Dutch players, because everyone knows you can only discuss players in the country they are from.

Actually the idea is that they are there meeting with representatives of Dutch players. Not that it is true, but you are being disingenuous at best.

He wasn't an afterthought he was second choice when Pepe didn't come. The plan had always been to bring in a senior CB that summer.

Looks more like a coke deal, with Pep and his rucksack drug mule look and Txiki in his Stringer Bell suit, all we need is Bubs pushing a shopping trolley full of dipper Champions 2013-14 t-shirts.

Would he be allowed to offer a hypothetical - what I would do to ensure top three from here - via some video tactics messages to Pellegrini?

This made me laugh

I guess quality goes without saying. It's still hard for me to see less than two in the back four two or three in midfield and one in attack.

What constitutes an overhaul these days? For me anything that involves five in like the summer of 2013 isn't far off an overhaul. Maybe better to call it a refreshing of the squad!

One top midfielder, and maybe an improvement in the full back position. No need to do it all in one window. Too risky.

Replace Toure properly and we're instantly back in the mix. Champions League can wait. I'd do it incrementally.

Id be very surprised if Peps conditions included increments, his reputation and remit will demand a very high, and almost instant, return.
