Still angry

Watching the Leicester players celebrating at Vardys last night you had to feel happy for them. We had to wait a long time for our title in 2012, they've waited forever and and we all know how great ours felt.
One thing struck me though, there was a complete togetherness in the way they celebrated as there is in the way they play, a togetherness I don't think we have. We have cliques of players who get on great but I just couldn't picture our current squad doing that last night

Its a valid observation, Its what has got them through, top for 135 days with that pressure on them is one hell of an achievement.

There is no togetherness with our lot, they prance around shrugging there shoulders when we go a goal behind, until the mentality is sorted out it will be rinse and repeat for years to come.Money is only 50% of the story as Leicester have just proved-an to a lesser extent Tottenham.

The problem as I see it in regards to that, is how long Pep is here for.

If he's only here for 3 seasons, is he really going to axe 10 players for being lazyarses or give people like Silva or Aguero shit on a day when they aren't up for it ?

I hope he does but I think it will be somewhere inbetween, unless he plans a long stay, in which case they are all potentially on Death Row.
To be honest I think the days of any manager staying long term has gone. I can see Pep staying for maximum 5 years which would be fantastic. What we really need is a change of emphasis and a more professional approach to each match preparation. Tactically and preparation wise are the two areas I believe Pellegrini is poor at. He wants his team to play a certain way and is inflexible which has cost us many points. He is also reactionary rather than proactive. I don't see us changing too many players, just a few key areas. Pep will instantly have the respect of the squad and hopefully for us fans, he will set us on a slightly different course that will put things in place for others to follow. Despite all the rubbish written on here - including some of my angrier posts after lethargic games - there is not that much wrong or put it another way, not a lot that cannot be fixed quickly with the right leadership. Look at Leicester to see how players can be motivated to perform week in week out. Granted we will have many more high pressure games and need a better quality in the squad. It will be interesting to see how Pep handles the poor quality of some of the senior players that don't play all the time. I for one think he will have a dramatic effect on players like Sterling and Nacho who have vast potential - not sure what he will do about Delph whose passing is terrible, I see Bony, Kolarov, Navas,Fernando and perhaps one surprise player departing.

Whilst the world has jumped on the Leicester bandwagon and everyone seems to be giving them hearty congratulations and slapping them on the back I just feel angry. Really, really angry. That is my only emotion. Fair play to them and all that but how the fuck are they Champions?
At this moment in time, and I admit this may change dramatically by tomorrow night, I really could kick our lazy, arrogant team all around their plush dressing room. I don't think anybody would deny we have the most talented team so how are we labouring to scrape 4th place and miles behind bloody Leicester?
The answer is because they don't fucking care. They don't want to work. Don't want to run and chase. They don't want it badly enough. They are a team of pampered superstars led by a weak, ineffectual manager. Souness was spot on. They pick and choose when they can be arsed. Sevilla, Kiev, Paris. Yeah we'll make an effort. Sadly those performances are greatly outweighed by lazy, shit displays.
So sorry Leicester I don't feel your joy at all. I'm pissed off and I can only hope those in charge at our club feel the same way.
What a soft arsed ****

Why is it an embarrassment? There is no divine right. We haven't played well all season for a number of factors, but mainly injuries and a declining squad that FFP affected more than people realise. There is still everything to play for. We may miss out but so be it.

Injuries aren't the reason we haven't played well. We haven't played well because we have been mismanaged and because the players only turn up when they feel like it. Injuries have exacerbated the situation but they have not been the root problem.

Abso-fucking-lutely! We have 3 main cliques, based on language - the English-speakers, Spanish-speakers and French-speakers. It never looks like a cohesive unit, a team. There are groups within the the changing room for sure. Leicester are all together as one.

What a fucking fuss....to those having a tantrum because little Leicester have won the league....and how very dare they? accept this is football. Its what makes football great. Some lucky enough to be in Madrid will have been present when City played Macclesfield and Stockport in the League. Manchester City will never win every game they play with or without Pep its not the end of the world. I will be gutted if we dont go through tommorrow night, I will be angry if we are shit and get our arses on a plate especially if a certain ex rag portuguese poof is responsible but ffs it wont be the end of the world and we will be in Europe one way or another next season.

Yes its right to be pissed off when players seem to amble around with little or no apparent motivation. Sadly when you put all the circumstances together it was almost inevitabel. Players who know they are passed thier best and are likely to be gone in a few weeks, a manager who knows he is gone prioritising the Champions league as he doesnt know if he will get as good a chance of winning the thing. The fact all those players and even the manager who knows the whole of this and probably last season has just been a filler whilst the club await the manager they have wanted all along. We all know that the squad needs rebuilding significantly and that really wasnt going to start until Pep was in place.

I fear for the blood pressure of some next season if it proves a little patience is required whilst Pep does rebuild and get it all together and well it might.

I agree with the OP, I couldn't care less about Leicester winning it, with the side we have we should be winning the league at a canter. That isn't me behaving like a "spoilt rag" that is me looking at how much we have spent, looking at our playing staff and believing that this season, with Chelsea imploding, United nowhere to be seen and Arsenal being Arsenal we should have won the league by February. Instead we are struggling to finish top 4, in a league won by Leicester, a league where Spurs are likely to finish 2nd and a league where West Ham are right up our arse. You can buy into all the fairy-tale stuff if you like, I wont, Pellegrini has been an absolute disaster.

The decline in the quality of the side has been there for all to see over the past 18 months under his leadership. He won the title and should be leaving the club a hero but instead many fans cant wait for him to go. He is tactically inept and is clearly unable to motivate the players, that on Sunday was an absolute disgrace and was like watching us 20 years ago.

Its not all Pellegrinis fault, the player recruitment from Txiki has been terrible. Millions wasted on centre-backs, no improvement in full-backs for years, Kolarov was no good 5 years ago yet hes still in the side. We've let countless center-midfielders go and continually replaced them with inferior players, Gareth Barry wasn't good enough for where we wanted to be, yet we replaced him with a worse player in Garcia and then replaced him with someone who looks like he is carrying a fridge-freezer on his back in Fernando. We haven't signed a top-class striker since Aguero, we have wasted millions trying to do so but consistently end up cursing because we have nobody to replace him when he is injured.

I live in hope that we can somehow fluke a Champions League win and then the season will suddenly become a success, however I feel getting knocked out this week and then failing to finish top 4 is more likely. In this scenario the club is left in turmoil and the media would absolutely slaughter us, loving the fact that Pep is coming in without CL football. Pellegrini will be ok though, he walks away with the world stating that he is a really nice guy and his head held high despite being a complete failure.

Iheanacho has the best scoring rate in the Premier League this season, better than Aguero's. There is nobody to replace Aguero if you are as blind as a bat as Pellegrini somehow is.

I bet Arsenal fans feel even worse. Spurs fans must be wondering how they've not won it either. Hey ho...we go again!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with you about being mad at our squad. That was a very winnable league and we blew it.

On the other hand, I think Leicester's win is better for the Premier League than another Manchester City win. We'll win championships, but what Leicester did gives hope to the clubs who don't have money. It reinforces the belief that while other leagues have predictable champions, anything can happen in this league.

Fair play to them and all that but how the fuck are they Champions?
I don't think anybody would deny we have the most talented team so how are we labouring to scrape 4th place and miles behind bloody Leicester?

They have accumulated more points than anybody and that's all that counts. Well done to them for doing it.

We do not have the most talented team. We probably have the most talented individuals out of each squad but there are a fair number of players from other teams' squads that would have given us the title! They have them, we don't.

Some of the set-ups, team selections, team performances, being stretched across four competitions for a good chunk of the season and individual injuries have not done us any favours! If we finish in the top four, it will be just about deserved.

I'm certainly not angry at Leicester, it's not their fault we were shit for a lot of games this season.

I think this will be a kick up the arse for us and Pep will make a huge difference, provided we give him the right signings and stop trying to polish turds.

Kolarov, Bony, Fernando, Delph, Navas, Mangala, Otamendi are not title winning standard and it's criminal what we wasted on them. It wasn't helped by having a lethargic, uninspiring manager either.

As long as we can sign Pogba, a world class centre back and a left back, and a winger at the same level as KDB plus a back up striker who'll get us 15-20 goals to help Kun out when injured, we'll win it next season. If we don't sign all of those, we'll struggle again.

In all honesty Leicester succeeded where Liverpool ultimately failed in 2014.
The way the Premier League has evolved, there's now a huge opportunity for a team who isn't in Europe, to pick the same team, and grasp the mettle, whilst their rivals rotate and drop silly points.

A lot of sense spoken here. Simply ask yourself, do you think we would have won the title with just the PL and domestic cups to play in. Despite injuries, I believe the answer would be yes.

Just watch that shambles of a team against Southampton and that is why Leicester are champions. KOLAROV,DELPH and BONY To name just three wouldn't get in their squad so why do we have to put up with shit like them

It's baffling isn't it. Add to that Demichellis coming on and it was like a how shit a team can you get on the pitch at any one time competition.

It's teamwork that makes the dream work.

It's the teamwork which makes Bayern & Barca etc so much better than us imo.

I don't have such a low opinion of our players' ability as some, nor as high an opinion of some of our rivals' ability. Of course Messi & Ronaldo are on another level & we have some crappers who need moving on but I think our strongest team is very strong indeed on paper. But if you look at Bayern or Barca, the way they have been able to play in different shapes & make it work so well, each as a team, we have rarely been so efficient under either manager since the takeover.

We have been more like Real Madrid, relying on our star players. But even Real had a more solid 'team' look about them than normal last week & also v Barca.

I want to see a City 'team' with a plan & everyone carrying it out & fighting for each other. And any players who won't play their part , I want them gone, no matter how good or how expensive.
