Guardian's nominations for Premiership flop of the season.

Otamendi's been awful. Even in the last game his perfectly engineered lunge tackle cost us a goal.

No it didn't it was crap control/ pass from kelechi that put him in that situation

Maybe it was Nacho's fault for every other flying foul he's committed this year as well? As for Sunday, if he stays upright, no foul given or goal conceded.

For all the negative criticism on here for Mangala I feel Otamendi has been worse and is always an accident waiting to happen. Would agree it was his fault for goal on Sunday. Lost count of the amount of times I shout "stay on your feet".

Still think there's a decent player in there, Otamendi, and that Pep will bring it out.

He's a weird player in this respect. Despite being pretty wank all season, most blues I know (including me) think "there is a decent player in there somewhere". Hopefully there is but if we are being brutally honest, the evidence suggests otherwise. Still, it is first season in England etc. :)

Otamendi is statistically our best defender according to WhoScored.

The Telegraph's standards really have dropped these past few years

They must have actually watched our games then and not just at face value statistics. He's been garbage for majority, statistics can be manipulated to whatever narrative you wish to argue.

I hope he spends more time concentrating on the match at hand than doing his hair next season.

Memphis Depay
Nicolas Otamendi
Fabregas
hazard
Agbonlahor

The others are fair enough but Otamendi?

To be fair your could have put half of team in there Bony, Kolorov, Toure and Delph (take your pick)

Depends what context it is in. He came in as the best defender in Spain, a large chunk of money used on him and ultimately he has been given the run around. Big hard nut who rolls around like a pansy if someone looks at him funny. I'm not even going into his defending as I am sure that's been covered

^ Who was that exercise in how not to defend against by the way? In my all consuming rage I remember him falling over like a baby figuring out how to walk and the goal as clear as day but not who scored it.

West Ham, give him a break, he was fixing his hair at the time.

That lad that Everton bought for £14m ....Niasse I think he is called, about 4 subs appearances and no goals. Not sure that lad at Chelsea Falcao has ripped up any trees either
