The New Top Gear, Yes or No.

The presenters in a minor role I would like to see more of. Eddie Jordan and Sabine Schmitz all looked good and better than Evans. LeBlanc isnt too bad I think it is what it is and you cant knock it people wont be happy about some parts of the show but fuck it. See how it goes on during the remaining of the series.

I think the main problem with it is the creators/producers of Top Gear think that by just sticking any presenters in the show and following the same format the old presenters took would still work.

The Stig "some say..." bit needs binning off, as does telling Evans to over-hype everything to fuck which comes across as annoying. Also, taking cheap shots at Clarkson (first ep with "not mentioning food on this show anymore..." and last nights Eddie Jordan "and on that bombshell...") comes across as petty.

To be honest unless they had a contract in place for the theme music, although great they should have completely re-formatted and changed the show. It literally comes across as though Clarkson/May/Hammond are all off sick or on hols and these are stepping in for them atm.

The South Africa bit yesterday was good but again, much like the narration of Evans over the three of them (Evans/Le Blanc/Jordan) bickering over who's got the better car, it's exactly the same sort of thing we're used to seeing with Clarkson/May/Hammond... The producers need to realise they can't just replicate the show whilst replacing their presenters and for it to work the same. It comes across as almost parody like, and considering Le Blanc isn't used to presenting (although he's actually quite decent at it), it's not a very good parody either.

I'm going to give it a chance but if they don't begin to change some of the ways in which the presenting is done rather than what feels like the producers thinking, "well... this worked when Clarkson/May/Hammond did it so it should work now...", a show needs to evolve, especially when it's lost essentially it's face.

Ha. Wait until the ginger **** tried to spin that.
He already has within the same article ...

"Overnight television viewing figures for Top Gear have never been less relevant. Obviously some newspapers prefer to live in the past.
"The way Top Gear is being viewed is repositioning the way television is consumed. Last week nine million viewers. This week we shall see."
Odd how they were 'relevant' last week but now they've significantly dropped everyone is apparently 'living in the past'!!!!

Would be interesting to know how many viewers the old team accrued using his add ons such as iPlayer and repeats ..... One thing you can be sure of, they'd have still been considerably higher in the good old days of Messrs Clarkson, Hammond & May!!!

Will watch it if doing nothing else, format doesn't work with with me with the new presenters
With the exception of Eddie Jordan who could be good, and Sabrine who knows how to handle a car
Why don't the BBC just bin it and start again with those two
Oh forgot it was a cash cow for them

so from last year's worst in nearly 10 years, this week's is the new worst since Series 2, so over 150 episodes and just under 13 years ago.

13 years hard work, entertainment and global growth undone by an annoying ginger twat.
Not according to him. They had 9m last week. The world has changed and you're living in the past.

well if it's so successful he wouldn't need to justify himself or it. over 1.5m have told him to fuck off in one week. 3m since the last series. World and viewing habits haven't changed that much in this country in one year, not like the IPlayer has only just been invented.

Watched it last night .

It wasn't that bad .

Leblanc good presenter

And I don't mind Eddie Jordan .

The only down side to Top Gear is Chris Evans .

Just watched the 2nd one. A lot better than the first which was terrible. WTF was that reliant thing about if you're not going to roll them over every 5 minutes? But once I got around to finally giving this weeks a go, I actually laughed a few times and thought the challenge and car content were much better.

I thought the first piece on the Mclarens was done well too for a supercar review and arguably as good as any of CMH might've done.

I could really do without Chris Evans if given a choice but if he and the program make me laugh, whilst drooling over some car porn each week then that's all I'm bothered about really.

Yeah this week's episode was a massive improvement. Not that that was difficult.

But one cliche about Top Gear was always "it's not really a car show." And it's not true. While the South Africa video was pretty good, they barely mentioned the cars all the way through. With the old crew, while they would do these extravagant road trips, they were still ostensibly reviewing the car they were driving. The only thing I learned about any of the cars was that the Mercedes had a smaller engine than the other two. But I guess that's what you get when Top Gear is taken over by people who don't really know anything about cars. It's hard to be funny about cars if you don't know anything about them in the same way that it's hard to be funny about football if you know nothing about it.

Wonder if the Ginger Tw@t will be quoting that the audience dropped by ⅓ this week with 1.6 million less viewers than last week .... FACT!!!

I'm surprised it wasn't more just due to the lovely weather on Sunday. I wasn't coming in for anything!
