Labour / Tory Party meltdown Referendum fallout

Diane Abbott really doesn't want to be off the front bench does she? She's talking about moving forward and making the best of what the people have decided. She must think she'll actually have a say or is delusioned enough to think people care what she's got to say.

There's a big split in the Tory party also and if the new leader can't re-unite the party I can see quite a few MPs bailing out of the Tory party. Not as many as Labour but a few nonetheless.
As for 6 more years with the Tories in power, the most likely way that will be achieved will be if the Labour Party sticks with Corbyn, and there's no breakaway.

The obviously difference with the Tories, and why I wouldn't see any sort of SDP getting off the ground, is they're already in power. Any MP's not happy with Brexit or whoever takes charge next need only hold their tongue, and they can bide their time, still in power, until the winds change and the party starts moving back towards their views. If it doesn't then there could be a divide, but to force it now would seem rash and unnecessary.

Then it would be pointless IMO. It needs to take a seriously good bite out of the current Tory party to establish an effective opposition, otherwise they may as well just try and reconcile their differences within Labour, if that's even possible with the cluster fuck they've managed to create.

Not really. I think there's loads of people who voted Labour in the Blair years who don't feel at home with either Corbyn, the Tories or the Lib Dems who would probably vote for an SDP type party led by Benn, David Miliband or someone like that.

With the current makeup of the Labour party it probably isn't. Supporting there is a vote of no confidence followed by Jeremy getting elected again, as is likely to happen
