Nolito

Is there any hope left that this one won't go through? :( Fucking 30 year old Nolito, reeks of a January-window panic buy or would someone care to explain what kind of a future are we building with scrubs like him?

Been lurking since 2010.. has posted only a handful of times.. don't know how old the player is.. I smell a rag bastard..

Haven't read a lot of the thread so may have already been said. I assume he's being brought in as he's worked under Pep before and can help with some of our young promising players whilst being a decent squad player himself over the next couple of seasons. Not sure what all the fuss is about. Pep obviously likes him.

Sure he isn't a 'wow' signing but there isn't a
top top player out there in his mould who'd
accept a bit part role like he may do..Man
almost joined Barca in January to play backup
to MSN.
Pep wants him,he understands his system(s).
Think many who expect 'marquee' signings
might be disappointed..I'd rather players who
fit into Pep's system(s)..Trophies and success
will follow.
I agree. Pep brought in an aging Xabi Alonso, Douglas Costa out of Ukraine,a Kingley Coman who couldn't get game time at PSG & Juve, and Kimmich from the German 2nd division... Wonder if Bayern fans are complaining about any of those moves??? His transfer success rate at Bayern was pretty good. Only the Lewa/Gotze,Vidal and Thiago signings were "big name" deals a quarter of his signings over 3 years.

30 this year = 30. I smell a smart-arse twat who can't handle cynicism towards questionable signings.

Guess it could be worse, the Dippers are "investing" a cool £30M on Saidio Mane.

So, can you suggest a better forward for £15 odd million, than a full Spanish international at his peak, good goalscoring record, with a few years in him and familiar with guardiola.
Name one.

Or you believe buying any player who costs just 15mn is a bad signing, no matter how much value for money, because we should only buy £100mn galacticos?

I know that he has been toiling away at Celta Vigo for a few seasons, scoring a few Youtube-worthy goals. A bit of a late bloomer it seems.

I take it there's a lot to add to that?
Last 3 seasons he has scored double figures,12 last year including against RM and Barca,he never stops moving and offering for the pass,i forget how many assists he has,he knows peps system,he can help sterling improve and for 14m release clause he is worth it for 2 or 3 years until some from the academy comes through. He is 29 and a spainish first teamer

Does the code of conduct say anything about calling someone a misguided fuckwit?

I would suggest putting the 15 in the piggy and promoting Roberts, for starters.

Maicon was supposed to be a good idea as well.

There won't be another manager under the watchful eye of the British media than Guardiola.
I'm sure Pep is buying him to make himself look a twat eh?
Let's see how he is used and what he can do before he's judged.......too much of this shit goes on,on here.

What a shite comment mate, I am all for having an opinion but this is outright slagging without an ounce of knowledge.

this is hardly our last signing the summer has only just begin. He will be a good rotation player. He was having a great season until he got hurt for celta.

Agreed. But right now I would even see Nolito a bit ahead of Raheem who just is going through tough times again. Pep certainly knows he has to take all that pressure away from Raheem. The young lad has to improve a lot and it could be much easier for him to take the second row now and get some time to have a kind of restart under Pep's system. We would need both of them anyway.

Good signing in my eyes, consistent performer over the years at a fairly average La Liga side. Will take some of the pressure off Sterling if he's not performing whilst simultaneously giving him competition to fight for his spot in the starting 11.

At £14m we'll get a few good years out of him, low-risk, good value signing.
