Paul Pogba

Now I'm like the rest on here hoping that Pogba doesn't go to them. The thought of the rags improving their midfield is a major concern.
However I wonder if Txiki and Pep are more concerned he may end up at Madrid?
Our ultimate goal is to be the best in Europe and to land the major prize.
Pep may have more faith in our current squad than we have.
Maybe they think domestically we can handle utd with Pogba, but Madrid with Bale, Ronaldo and Pogba would/could be mission impossible.
We're presuming that we'll get Kroos if they get Pogba. What happens if they pull the plug?
Their midfield could be Modric, Pogba and Kroos, with Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema up top.

I want to win the Prem and be the best in England, however I think our owner and the manager have their sights on being best side on the planet.
As we have seen plenty of times in the past, the CL is a lottery.

Real can't afford to buy Pogba without selling us Kroos, besides why would they keep an unhappy player they can sell for 60m+

Matuidi will be the eventual outcome
I hope so. Very energetic but short on quality.

My guess is that Utd have looked at their struggles to land their targets in previous windows, and decided to align themselves with a super-agent Raiola. Perhaps it's just coincidence that most of their signings are players on his books, but given the signings they've made, and the deals they have tried to do for his players, it does seem possible that if they fail to get Pogba, they'll move for another of his players: Matuidi

Can't see him going to the rags.

Raiola is a smart fella, if Real was the only team left in the hunt for Pogba, they could dictate the price given all the other big teams backed out. By keeping the rags in the mix, it forces Real to bid more money than originally planned.

I could see him going to Real for less than €120 which the rags bid because Pogba prefers Real and they know this OR Real won't pay up and Pogba commits his future to Juve, IMO there are no other options.

Pogba is a player with a big ego, we saw this at euros with him trying to be in the spotlight and being selfish in certain moments, taking many shots, etc. He wants to be the best player in the world.

Do you all really think he would go back to the rags, a team that decided to play Rafael a LB in midfield before him?

Do you really think he would give up the chance to win another league title in Italy and go deep in the CL with Juve a team that has just become even stronger this summer with the additions of Pjanic and Alves, and decide to go play Thursday night football and fight for a top 4 spot with the rags? LOL

Do you really think he would choose to go play for a manager that loves draws and parking the bus over his footballing idol Zidane who won the CL in his first season in charge?

Lets all be realistic here Pogba will either go to Real or stay at Juve.

That's my bet too

According to bbc united haven't even talked to juve. Who as we are finding out are tough to get a deal with

What's the situation regarding a transfer ban for Real Madrid? There was talk about this some time ago, but I lost the overview. Is it still on?

You're comparing a still developing 23 year old with a late bloomer at the peak of his ability. What had Yaya achieved by Pogba's age? Nothing of note.

This 'young Yaya' stuff has to stop. They're two completely different players who just happen to play in central positions.

I would take Pogba as my No1 choice from what is available, even though I don't see him as a perfect Guardiola player (we actually have my original No1 choice in that respect: Gundogan).

But I'm not convinced he will ever be at the same level as Yaya, even though I agree, the comparison is not a good one.

So let's compare him to a young Gerrard. Not fit to lace Gerrard's boots imo. 120 mil is ludicrous.

But not as ludicrous as 60 mil for Kroos. Neither is worth half what the rumoured rate is imo but the market is stupid. What a bargain we have with Gundogan.

There's more to it than that, wherever Mourinho's been he's always had an aggressive ball winning CDM, Matic, Essien, Makelele to name a few. Matuidi along with Kante foot the bill and are the type of player he's still missing to play his system, Pogba is a luxury player and if Mourinho plays his usual 4-2-3-1 with Zlatan up top and you'd presume he's looking at Rooney being centre of the 3 pushing up to support and play alongside Zlatan, where does that leave Pogba if he signs?

The signings and system Mourinho plays it's a Matuidi/Kante type player he's missing, not Pogba

I would go as far as to say with all the speculation of him to them its just Raiola playing his own game at getting Madrid to panic and to stump up what he wants for him and Pogba.

Which begs the question: Where would Pogba play if he were to join us? KDB is our unanimous no.10 and is much better at that position than Pogba. I'm guessing the midfield 2 with Gundogan then if we were to play 4-2-3-1?

Completely agree about Gundogan, easily the signing I'm most looking forward to seeing play. With regards to fees thoug; the money talked about is ridiculous but that's not going to change any time soon and I can only see fees continuing to skyrocket.

The Gerrard comparison is a much better one in terms of both players being determined to play Hollywood passes and long range attempts. I think Pogba's a fantastic player - although inconsistent at this stage - and I certainly wouldn't mind having him in the squad. However, I do feel like he'd have less of an impact for us than he would for them down the road.

I think he's a class player. In the £60m bracket IMO. However if he want's Pep, this might be his only chance. Could New York be Pep's destination post Manchester??
Haha, no fucking chance. The MLS is a joke. Why would he take such a backwards step in his career? He'll go to Serie A to someone like Juve or Inter.

This is why I'm not overly fussed with not getting him, where would he fit?

Don't get me wrong, Pogba would be a great asset to any Club but as we know Pep looks at the overall squad/team effect. I think once Gundogan signed it pretty much told us that Pogba would be a non-starter, especially with the ridiculous money involved. I can see Gundogan/Dinho partnership if a 4-2-3-1 system is played which I think is more balanced, I certainly expect to see 3-1-2-1-3 next season at times with Dinho in front of the 3 and able to drop in to make a 4 if needed.

One thing is for sure Pep is very flexible with his systems along with who he's got at his disposal which will be a breath of fresh air to us City fans, the total opposite to Mourinho rigid 4-2-3-1 or at times 4-5-0

If Pogba goes to a club who aren't even good enough for the Champions League, then it confirms he isn't as good as the hype.

Real Madrid ended interested according to SSN. If true, that certainly changes things for a few clubs.

And certainly does for a certain poster on here who said he will run down Market Street naked if he joined Nited,I think I'll get some tickets printed tomorrow, you know just on the off chance
