Just curious as to why you would single out Delph as a failure? Or are you basing it on his poor injury record rather than his ability?

When fit I think he has been excellent albeit he hasn't been fit that often

Completely agree, thought he was brilliant against Southampton at home

Hmmm. So the weekend of Pep's unveiling to the press the narrative across the tabloids is that Txiki's under pressure and going to lose his job.

Funny that. Also funny that the narrative across the road at rag central is that they're now "back" because MooMoo's in charge over there.

Personally I think this is another transparent attempt to pour cold water on the set up at City because it pains people just how much better run a club we are than the rags.

Wonder what the narrative would be if WE were going to spunk 120 million on a player who's probably worth about half that and were about to destroy the current premier league wage ceiling.

and the bullshit about txiki just happens to come out on the same day the rags have sacked derek langley.

apart from Delph, who's Txiki bought that's been a genuine flop? The others have just been misused and poorly coached by Pellegrini.

The criticism of Txiki would be lack of wow signings, but I don't see any flops, not even Mangala, he's shown enough when given a run of games.

I do want some star, A-list signings this summer because that's what we've lacked since 2011/12, some real star power. It's been a long time since opposing fans have gone "oh fuck, City have signed x" under their breath.
Bony,awful player ?

Of all the potential wumming in this thread, the word "excellent" in relation to Delph tops the fucking lot.

Hardly Tixiki's fault if Bony hasn't settled and performed, we paid 25m for the most inform striker in the league at the time. He was playing for a team playing decent football and there was nothing to suggest he couldn't step up and perform for us.

Him bullying us every time he played probably helped also, he showed enough in them games to show me that he is a capable striker.

Very dissapointed in our transfer dealings yet again.

Although i do believe pep will improve our current squad no end.

I can kind of see why people are disappointed, I think when it comes to successful transfers it's easier to just compare them to the recent previous buys.

So who has come in, in the last 4 years that is better, the same, or even potentially the same as:

Silva, Yaya, Aguero, Nasri, Barry, Tevez, Kolarov, Lescott, Johnson, Dejong, Clichy, Dzeko, Savic.

In my mind only Fernandinho, DeBruyne, Negredo, Sagna have a good argument.

So far Sterling, Ota, have a chance.

Mangala, Bony, Fernando (albeit improving), Navas, Rodwell, Sinclair, Garcia, Maicon all weren't anywhere near.

all my opinion of course, but i look at the previous list and see champions, i look at the players since and see exactly where we are.
