Midfield is a necessity for me

We clearly aren't getting Pogba.

Kroos and Thiago could be targets (according to various ITKS/rumours)

But i wonder how much depends on what Pep thinks about Yaya. Just watching the France game and what is evident about all 3 of the French midfield is that none of them have the ability to create like Yaya. They have athleticism (like Yaya of old - but in his pomp they don't come close to possessing his power and strength) but I don't think any of them are as creative or look after the ball as well as Yaya (even the Yaya of last season).....they all defend better (not hard)

So I guess it comes down to what Pep thinks over the next few weeks - can he revitalise Yaya mentally and physically (I know we won't get the marauding Yaya of old as his legs won't do it) but on his day he is still a force and can Pep work his magic to get one more season out of him. I think a lot comes down to Yaya's mentality - can Pep work on this? A midfield 3 of Gudongan fernandihnio and positive Yaya is a real force

I wonder if that is also why we are seeing a bit of a lull in info on incoming midfielders....maybe Pep hasn't made a decision on what he thinks he needs/wants till he assesses fully what he has (and in particular Yaya)

Its a diffiuclt one...pre season is a problem because of the euro's, meaning not much time for pep to make his mind up these things.

I can see yaya being employed in a slower role(he's also doing double sessions to get in shape), a bit like alonso at bayern...someone else pointed towards this previously.

Everything feels like that to you though, so I wouldn't trust that instinct either way.

When its done and signed then we can relax and start looking forward to seeing his talents in a blue shirt, until then, the Laporte deal showed, anything can happen....think thats a very reasonable opinion to have...
