I've been a big supporter of Begiristain's this summer and in the past in general. But if Stones isn't on the plane to China, if he isn't with the squad by he game next Monday, then Txiki wants to have a word with himself. I'm not even going to pretend to know all the "red tape" and politics that are involved in high level transfer dealings, so I'll reserve judgement on Txiki.
But from a pure footballing point of view, I totally agree. I thought this week we would see both Stones and Sane join and like you said in Stones case, it can't happen soon enough.

OFFS you of all people should have a better understanding that deals can take weeks and weeks.I bet all the team who are involved in transfers would like to see this one wrapped up.Another case of slagging Txiki when we don`t understand the problems of what goes on in the background and the difficulties of signing a high profile player.

I'm OK with trusting Adarabioyo, Humphreys-Grant and Facey for the friendlies because the only one where I place any importance on the result will be the United game, but I'd still prefer Stones here sooner rather than later. Not that I think for a second Txiki isn't doing everything he can to get this done as soon as possible.

We've been at "close" for about a week now. Fingers crossed we can shift to "fee agreed" before the guys fly to China.

I just don`t understand the bitching that Txiki gets at times on here.None of us have any ideas as to why some transfers take time and as another poster said the other day,you don`t rush through when buying a house as the contracts and whats like take weeks and sometimes months to sort out.This isn`t a bloody £1M deal and Everton may not want to sell until they have a replacement in.If the shoe was on the other foot we`d soon be on here telling the buying club to fuck off and wait.
The lad wants to come,it appears that Everton want (reluctantly) to do business and at least by the end of August it will be done and dusted.If it takes that long,then so be it.Better to have late,than not at all.

Agree to an extent but I'm sure the blokes working as fast as he can, don't forget we've tied up Moreno and Rulli in recent days, and deals for expensive players are always going to be long and drawn out.

Stones didn't move club and then perform shit, and also has age on his side. Didn't most of the everton squad under perform last year...hence the sacking of martinez?
