PL & CL Squads (updated: Toure omitted from CL squad)

So Yaya is dropped. Finally, a manager who doesn't massage the egos of the players or their agents. Well done, Pep.

So winning titles and cups 3 years running and getting to 3 c/l semi finals is some kind of failure ? Can't wait for us failing like that.

I didn't say it was failure, I said they didn't win the CL. We reached the semi final also.. No doubt Pep's way is a fantastic way, but like any change, it will take time to bed in, however good he is. Having different options in a squad is always better than not.

No that tweet was about the PL squad and not the CL,i learnt something today:)
Yeah, so did I.... Eufa are a bunch of overpaid pampered tw*ts with nothing better to do than continually make up totally incomprehensible sh*te, as a result of being permanently on the p*ss :-)

He doesn't want options he want it done his way, with 11 players all pulling one way, and as his way has always worked, and his record is second to none, until it doesn't then he has to be backed. It would be like selecting Mo Farrer for the Olympics and then saying those training methods and tactics you have always used are great, but we'd rather you did it this other way so we don't upset some of our other runners.
Anybody can think he may be mistaken, but we should all accept he probably won't be. Hands up everybody that thought Kolarov should/would stay ?

Kelchi could have been put on the B-List and Yaya put in his place. He wasn't. A point made to Yaya I think.

You get the feeling that Yaya might be reconsidering his options as January approaches, i can see him hardly kicking a ball for us again.

Has the Transfer Window closed everywhere?

The window used to close later in Russia than here.

I reckon he will leave on free imo at the end of the season when his contract expires. That way he can be used sparingly in the premiership when needed with good rest periods, he might not be played much but if needed will be fresh and fit.

End of contract, Yaya gets a signing on fee for himself and his agent next summer

I meant on ability... He and Toure clearly do not see eye to eye...
Pep moved him on before and will do again.
In Pep's system you have to press. If you don't you can't play. Fernando and Delph are very good at this. Yaya cannot do it. Its that simple if you want to look at it from a footballing perspective.

Kelechi doesn't qualify for the B list until January this year. (my understanding of the situation anyway)

Your understanding is correct. We had to drop a senior foreign player. The only ones that really could have been considered are Yaya, Fernando, and Navas.

And before anyone suggests it, Yaya won't get in the CL squad in January as the spot that comes open from Nacho will go to Jesus.

If Yaya's agent really had the best interests of his client at heart - Rather than using Yaya as a pawn to get every last penny out of City he can in order to satisfy some unknown petty "spiteful" grievance against the club - he must now surely advise Yaya that his time at City is done, and renegotiate a new, mutually beneficial, agreement, with the club, on the cancellation of his contract in January.

Not holding my breath, on that one, though

I don't see how this is a footballing move.

City are playing hardball, and I don't see what the end game is. Its illogical on all fronts. It is obvious that Yaya is not going to take paycut or miss out on his loyality bonus due at the end of the year. In this scenario city have two choices 1) Subsidize a move away from the club, and free up some of the wage bill 2) Utilize his talents at the club instead of paying him part wages to play for another team.

It appears City have chosen option 3 which is to be vindictive, keep Yaya around as a distraction without utilizing him as a footballer. This is horrible on financial level, football level, and does not help clubs reputation among players around the world.

As he's nearing the end of his career, I don't think his agent is too bothered about Yaya's best interests to be honest.

More about Seluk squeezing "every last penny that he's 'entitled to" out of City
in order to satisfy some unknown petty grievance.

He'll be off to China or wherever in January.

His agent has spouted off a million times over spilt milk but we haven't heard a bean from him about his star man being dropped.
And I'm not just talking about the champions league.

Definitely some money changed hands here to keep the fuck shut and thanks for the memories.

Pelligrini in China. He'll be off in a few months and nobody will bat and eyelid because he hasn't played.

Oh the joys of having a proper manager
