Yeah to be fair it does sound like Pep is laying the blame solely on the doorstep of his predecessor.That's probably a bit harsh.
I'm sure what Pep really meant was that he's been really well looked after during the last 3 years, never played when injured & the whole mention of it was just a coincidence. It's not done him any harm at all.
In fact he didn't really mean anything by it & doesn't know why he mentioned it.
So has this to do with his recurring injuries,seems strange something toxic in his blood,like an underlying infection of some sort that hadn't previously been picked up...It's the enzmyes from his muscles that registering in his blood tests

I'm hopeful, he's seen a couple of specialists already and is now running with shaped insoles that solve the skeletal positioning issues putting a strain on his calfs. We also have a new club doctor starting in a couple of days a former player one Dr Eduardo Mauri who was the club doctor for Espanyol.Ok cheers,just hope to see kompany back playing without breaking down again..

These aren't toxins, they are enzymes which the body uses to aid recovery. If he has elevated levels of specific enzymes, there are several, then it means the body is still healing. The stuff on the new club doctor was in the medical science press a few weeks back which the Daily Mail picked up earlier this week.
