That's how we came to sign Barry Silkman!I believe that the Chinese have just found a map , centuries old , that proves that the "Silk Road " wound its way from Outer Mongolia , through Beswick ,
on its way to Macclesfield..............ha ha
While I was at the game last Wednesday. I got talking to a OAP in the Colin Bell Stand and he said to me that he had heard that the club is thinking of building a 4th tier on the stand opposite the Colin Bell stand. So I was wondering if anybody has heard anything. This is supposed to be done after the extension to the North Stand has been completed. In about 3yrs + from now.
Got into a argument with a guy at work, As the Etihad ever been only half full for a City game ? I can't think of a game that as had less then 25'000 ?
Yeah but we could play our homes games at Oldham would be great then when people said Emptyhad they would have a point because it would be empty4th tier Think of the difficulties in doing this It would require a new roof all around the stadium the logistics of doing that are huge would probably require the stadium to be closed for a year whilst the old roof was removed and a new one built IMHO a new stadium would be cheaper and easier which is the course that should have been taken before extending the south stand.
your answer is in the original planning app - there was a low res concept diagram showing all four stands extended and for the east and west it was just an extension upwards of the existing third tiers - i.e. NO fourth tier. The roof is not an issue as it is already clear (from the South Stand) that the existing roof will ultimately be removed and replacedWhile I was at the game last Wednesday. In front of 21,207 we got tonked by Arsenal in the next round where they had a very young Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie playing for them ISTR

17,200 in the UEFA Cup against Midgetland (or something like that) was, I believe, the lowest for a City first team match at The Etihad.
All league games have been well above 30,000.
