General Videogame Thread

Seen a couple of reviews on COD4 Remastered and it seems as though it still feels and plays the same way as the original and people are still loving it. Buzzing with that, looks like FIFA, Battlefield and pretty much any other game won't be getting that much of a look in for a while.

I am going to pre-order the new Xbox One S which comes with the FIFA 17 Digital Download. I have already pre-ordered the disc copy so I have no use for the download. Is it legal for me to sell the code on Ebay/etc. if I don't use it?

Yes. As long as it's valid. I did it a while back when I was given a digital copy of Alan Wake back in the 360 days.

Don't see why not.

I got a Skyrim code with my 360 years ago and sold it on Ebay

Haha I don't think so, but just looked more into it and you have to buy ships with real world money which is scandalous...... One guy has spent £30,000 on micro transactions. So I'm not sure but if someone was to rob your ship I think you'd have to buy a new one, which is a cunts trick.

Been playing Eve Online for last 18 months but have been looking for something else to move onto.

Initially really liked the look of Star Citizen but after delving into it more think i'll give it a big swerve. For one i don't think they'll ever get it to a finished point for 'general' release. They keep re-working lots of it and don't seem to have an agreed end point. Also when i scanned through the ships available etc and saw one with a $15,000 real money price tag i thought fuck that.

Yeah it's a rabbit hole I don't really want to dive into either..... I read that the initial release is due sometime in 2018 and the micro-transaction part will be taken away in the initial release, the micro-transactions are being used to fund the game apparently, like a kick starter.

I'll keep my ear to the ground but I'm not prematurely jumping into it.

Yeah. i'll probably do the same but after looking into the background of the main bloke behind it, & what happened with Freelancer, the issues of using CryEngine etc i haven't much faith.

Good overview here of what happening with it - Star Citizen Review

Finally working my way through Dark Souls 3 and it's fantastic. So much more thought put into it than DS2, which was a great playing game but had no explanation or plot whatsoever. Some things have changed and generally for the better, the bosses are still ridiculously intense and it's kept all it's Dark Souls-ness about it after DS2 made a few too many short cuts (Being able to kill enemies 10 times to stop them spawning, life gems, overpowered pyromancy etc)

Only maybe 10 hours into it but loving it, really intense. Hard to play for more than a couple of hours because it's pretty mentally exhausting

Anyone player Journey? Free for PS+ members this month.

Very short, but an experience.
Irritatingly, I bought it 3 weeks before it was announced as being free! Like you say though, a great experience but it only took about an hour and a half to complete

I'm playing through that at the moment having gotten it last Christmas. About a third of the way through. How long did it take you to finish?

About 30 hours.

It's. It a massive game by any stretch but I kinda think nowadays games are dragged out far too long.
It's left me with a nice warm feeling as opposed to the likes of Metal Gear which after 100 hours I just want the damned thing finished.

Swear to god I'm going to smash my controller anyone tried to get to the top of the mountain in rise of Destiny to get that bloody fragment just fuck off

Took me an hour to get that. It doesn't help that Destiny has the worst jumping and collision physics.

Yea it was a bugger that, took me about an hour. I'm completely struggling to get the third fragment on the new nightfall strike.
