But how many times does he fail to have a pop when he's inside or around the edge of the box now? I've seen him 10-12 yards out, with a shot on, pass to a player in a worse position. Or he's just outside the box and will try a fancy little flick instead of having a go. Whereas Nasri, Toure, De Bruyne and even Fernandinho will have a go. We've all seen it in many games. Take the first goal at Palace. Toure passed to Nolito then looked for the return. Silva might well have made the same pass but probably wouldn't have been thinking about working out how he could get the return and have a shot whereas that was the only thing in Yaya's mind.
People have also made the point that many of his goals came when we didn't have a recognised striker. In those games he took the responsibility of goalscoring on but when we do have strikers on the pitch, it seems to me that he absolves himself of that responsibility.
Perhaps I've got a bee in my bonnet about this but there's barely a game I don't scream *FFS Dave shoot!* at him at least once.
There's nothing else you can fault him on. Every other aspect of his game is exceptional and its been a privilege to watch him.
