That's exactly why. Next season we can include Garcia as an u21 and the season after he'll qualify as club trained.Unfair of Aleix García to be left out for Delph. Unless we need Delph's home-grown status?
He's been an absolutely useless signing and even when he's fit offers us nothing.
well it is obvious that he is here because hes EnglishHe's been an absolutely useless signing and even when he's fit offers us nothing.
You may well be right but he has rarely played this season. Maybe we should judge him after he has made a few appearances under Pep, especially as he has now addressed a long term injury.
Blow the dust off this thread again. Its been two weeks since he resumed training but still not featured in a matchday squad. Surely its getting time to either start playing or offload?
At this stage he should be moved. There's only so much patience can be shown to a lad who hasn't earned it.
And who says he hasn't earned it? For all we know Pep is distraught he's not been able to use him, he's the missing piece and as soon as we can put him on a pitch everything will fall into place.
Besides, the lad has done nought wrong. We bought him with an injury history and he's upheld his part of the agreement to work hard, be professional and he's mostly done a good job on the pitch when able to play.
Keeping him at the club isn't hurting anyone, he doesn't take up a foreign player spot and Pep's shown he'll happily throw an academy kid on ahead of him so he's not blocking anyone's path to the first team. I'm not sure why some people are so quick to demand he's sold or call him shit every time this thread get's bumped.

No-one has called him shit, personally I think he could do a job for us, but it's just not happening for him. And he does take up a spot in the Premier League and Champions League squads and if you didn't have him, you'd get another home-grown player in to fill the spot. Its nothing to do with the foreign player quota. Our options are limited with him being unavailable, just as is the case with Vinnie. Its not his fault no, but I'd rather have someone we can actually use then just pay for someone who never plays
I've nothing against him, but he had a window to prove himself that is now 18 months long, and let's be honest, he's either barely been available or looked woefully off the pace as he tries to get fit.
The irony is he had a great injury free record before we bought him.
I'm failing to see where he will fit in the longer this goes on. Yaya is back in the fold, Garcia is pushing through and there's bound to be more movement in midfield recruitment and academy progress. Like I said, I think his window is really closing.
Is this a joke? "No one's called him shit", just read the last few pages of the thread.
And you clearly don't understand the squad restrictions - we only have 3 HG players, we could sign 5 more HG players before Delph got in the way of us having anyone else.
He just never plays. Sad but true. A waste of a squad place. I thought it was a good signing. Shows you how difficult it can be.Fair enough, I meant I haven't called him shit (and you can check if you wish)
Yes I do understand HG rule, but you can't deny that not having him available is restricting our options and that can't be good?
