Why shouldn,t clubs want the most for their players, quite natural really. It sucks the way other clubs see city as a money bag and inflate the rate.

all clubs want the most they can get from the buying club, you've got to remember back in the day when we were skint we tried to get the most for swp, Paul Stewart ect.It sucks the way other clubs see city as a money bag and inflate the rate.
Stones is not worth anything close to 50 million
Well to be honest van dijk isn't worth 50 either. I don't think either are worth more than 30-35. Problem is that doesn't matter as the market value for defenders in the PL are so inflated it's quite sad. As teams in this league have a lot of money so the clubs decide they won't sell over a certain point when they have a guy on a long contract.Genuine question and purely out of interest, how much do you think Stones and Van Dijk are worth and what is this based on?
I understand but who is responsible for distorting the defender's rates ?Thought it started with Thiago silva and side show bob to psg.sadly giving stones 50 million has destroyed the market value for defenders.
We are part of why this is the case. Stones is not worth anything close to 50 million so now every club will have a 50 million price point at least

Tbh I think it started when camelbog was transferred to the rags.
But honestly why bother. It's not about how much you pay nowadays, more that you make sure you want to get hold of the player you want. And besides that you can only judge the fee when the player' contract ends. Than its time to look back and say: Has he been worth the money?
It sucks that the so called big boy let the smaller ones take the risk of see if players can make it in this league. (winky smilly thing)
If the richer clubs actually took the time to set up what teams like Saints have I hate to think how much poorer (thanks Liverpool) we'd be!
Really think we need to try and get this lad asap in January! Vinny out for a while and no guarantees of being fully fit ever again, stones a knock and really can't handle seeing kolarov at CB again! I
Do you know what "secret santa" is? Someone in the Southampton squad obviously bought it to him as his gift.
We probably already bought him.
That is one possibility that actually makes sense. If that was the case its a bit of joke with a teammate who is leaving in a week and just hit the lottery.
Could just as well be that we have been asking about him for next season.
Course you do. Chill out ffs. No one died.He is staring at a possible 60 million pound move. That moves him into some pretty elite company. YOU DON'T PUT THE FUCKING SHIRT ON (even if the owner gave it to you).
