I think he could be a good buy. Tall, strong, can play the ball and is the right age. Wonder if Mangala would fancy Southampton and vice versa?
 
yes, we know. I just think we've spent enough on CBs and should be a lot more careful from now on.
I believe every transfer carries an element of risk. I'm always excited to see new players with a strong reputation join us, but I understand that it doesn't always pan out the way we want. On that basis, I find it hard to criticise Txiki et al.

when you've spent over £100m on CBs and £0 on full-backs in the past 3 seasons, and you've bought Mangala, I think there is room for some criticism particularly when we end up having to play Kolarov & Clichy in the same team. We've bought a lot of players we're taking a chance on in recent times, I like us to just buy a couple of "been there, done that" stars, especially at CB.

Bony was top dog scorer when we bought him. He fitted the category of been there, done that.
We all want to buy the perfect fitting player each and every time, but life isn't like that.
