I've always hated him against us because he's been excellent every game as I've said before.

Just buy him. If Kompany recovers then great stuff. But buy him anyway.

Yep,he is a fantastic athlete and defender - he has the mobility and speed to deal with the likes of Sturridge and the size and physicality to deal with the big bastards,he seems to be improving too.

Without tempting fate on the lad, does he ever get injured?

Maybe niggles but nothing too serious

Personally I think we'll get either him or Laporte this summer, if vinnie keeps on getting injured

Does anybody find it irritating that one of our scouts would've been watching him every week while at Celtic - due to keeping track of Denayer?

We should've been in there to snap him up for a decent fee.

That's a good point. They probably felt the SPL was a piss poor league like most on here!
So we went for a hugely hyped player from the Portuguese league that loads were keen on, and a highly rated defender in La Liga and then the most highly rated English centre back.

The scouts/club seem to forget where we got Zabba and Kompany from and what they became. I still think the club could be much more effective in the transfer market. We seem to buy talent very young when it's years off appearing for the first team, and then spend big on players that should be instantly able to transform the first team. This hasn't turned out particularly well in recent seasons. We're still reliant largely on Silva, Aguero and Yaya whilst Kompany is our best defender despite never playing. De Bruyne is the only player that has truly and consistently improved us from what we had before.

Lazy scouting system.

Van Dijk looked inferior to Denayer whilst they were at Celtic in fairness.

Sterling? Ferni? Gabriel Jesus? Sane? Stones?

We have been doing an exceptional job of scouting and signing up the most promising players from around the world.

Very interested, for the sake of clarity, what would you have done differently? It seems like you are criticising the club for buying young players and then critisizing the club for buying established players. What would you have done?

Three, arguably four are still yet to reach world class levels, some even aren't top class yet. Our recruitment over the last three years has been below par. We're not the only club to struggle though in the transfer market, so it's probably easier said than done.

I,ll tell you what he would do! He,d continue to moan about how shit everything is with us, along with the other needy types. This place is ridiculous at times. I know, we haven't played for a few days, let,s find a thread to moan on.
