Everton v City post match

The really funny thing is that Everton are bobbins. Let's get to the end of the season and overhaul the squad. A few defenders and a midfield enforcer would be nice please Mr B

This whole obsession of being Barcelona Lite is a flawed fantasy mis-sold to the best owner in the world and I feel for him that he has been so badly let down by his advisors. At what point does he say enough of this lets be Manchester City instead of a pale imitation.

Was expecting Pep to bring Sane on for Clichy and match Everton's shape at HT. We had absolutely no width. Perplexing really

Stones is just poor. Not even a good ballplayer either. Otamendi is a better ballplaying CB. Really does show the low bar set for a ballplayer when you're English.

Bravo good with the ball at his feet but he's simply too small, every shot seems to go in!

Clichy set us up for that result by giving ball away twice for their 1st. Need a LB

Embarrassing result, a result which could have been different if Clattenburg had given us the blatant pen on Sterling.

Need a big reaction vs Spurs - and then a good run of wins.

Was just thinking after the 3rd goal how these young players making their debut always seem to score against us. Then when that other lad came on my heart sunk further because I knew exactly what the fucker would do.

It's majorly worrying how a team can play that defensive against us and still beat us 4-0. There has been no rebuilding on this team for years. Too many young players being bought for the future but what about right now? Garcia hasn't had much game time because we've barely won comfortably all season. You can't integrate young players when you're chasing a game or you've got a slender lead. The worse the first team is doing, the more pressure there is on the kids.

Thing is defeats like this don't bother me as much anymore, mainly because I half expect them a lot of the time. Five years ago under Mancini I expected to win every game and was hugely pissed off when we didn't. But now it's different. I had a bad feeling about this game all week, I'm just not in the least bit surprised by games like this anymore.

We can blame individual players (and in some cases it is justified) but Pep is not helping at all with asking them to play in this way......his total focus on attacking is killing us and that needs to change.....we woudl be better playingthe way everton did today with the team we have at present

It is SO easy to set up to beat us cause Pep plays so many attack minded players and asks his players to push so far forward all the time......its absolutely killing us on a regualr basis.

There were 3 players on the pitch today who had it in their minds to defend....the rest were all attack minded...this balance is so so wrong

please tell me this isn't serious. yep lets get rid of pep after barely half a season........

Damn right im serious! Mancini built that fuckin team! We couldn't defend before him, we haven't been able to since! Txikis recruitment has been fucking terrible!

Pep has spent a fortune and looks fuckin clueless

Four shots, four goals mate. He didn't make himself big for any of them, in fact he turned his back on the third goal. He's got to be a good keeper to have been Barcelona'S No1 but I don't have any confidence in him at the moment. Hopefully he sorts his game out and shows us what Pep has seen in him.

The last goal... Everything usually favours the goalkeeper.... Not ours.
His ability to make the goal look as big as possible is uncanny.
Saying that, he's not the reason we lost today. Its' a team game and ours was woeful.

Bravo is part of the defensive unit. It was one collective fuck up in that department.

Spot on. It's not going to work.

This thread is toxic—several posters are charging into realms that could be labelled as marginally racist and/or xenophobic.

We lost... badly... but some on here seem to be channeling their inner most facist selves.

All those ageing and out of contract players will be gone by the summer.Surely thats a positive step mate ?

True, but those same players should have gone long ago, we have stood still and in the last 2 seasons gone backwards at an alarming rate

I hope those who were so erect at the disaster that was sacking Mancini are happy.

We got away with it for a few years as we hired a brilliant manager in pellers to replace him (probably by accident) but make no mistake sacking our greatest ever manager in order to make room for 'the reluctant one' was a mistake of truly enormous proportions.

It's not peps fault he is unable to manage in a competitive league - it's the fault of those above him not to recognise his severe tactical and coaching limitations.

I'll probably get yet another warning and/or thread ban for this post - you're not allowed to criticise Pep on rawk (sorry, bluemoon) but I don't blame him per se, I blame the Catalan crew who have systematically ruined the project.

I believe Pep is a decent man and an honest one. As such I will not be surprised if or when he does the decent thing and resigns to make way for a manager that can move the club forward. And yes, I believe that manager is and always will be roberto Mancini.

We need him back. Now.
