PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It's just a friendly discussion between blues surely?
Sadly I don't think so - there are people on here who have axes to grind and fit into the "someone's wrong on the internet and I must put them right" camp and attempt to do so with riculous zealous vigour and to the point of potentially driving away obviously better informed people like stefan. I'm going to put them in the 'stupid' or 'bighead' camp to be honest.

What’s going on with this thread? Is it just a result of people wanting to know now rather than continue to wait? Understandable but we should be used to it by now.I was once told by a lawyer that even the most obvious slam dunk case you have ever seen has a 30% change that the result goes against them.If that’s true then City can be confident of their position while still recognising everything/something has a chance of going against them.
What’s Slbsn supposed to say?
Anything he wants except claiming the club is braced for possible bad news when in its statements and in three annual interviews with Khaldoon there is nothing but supreme confidence in a wholly positive outcome.

Anybody like to join me in the stupid bighead correction camp? Perilous business having a contrary opinion to the experts it seems.

Well, to be fair, experts do tend to know more than people who are less informed on a subject. It's why they're experts - and generally (not absolutely always) why they're worth listening to.

Honestly, don't be so naive. Or at least be open minded enough to accept that the club has a plan for some possible negative outcomes even if it is confident it will prevail. Honestly, it is so obvious and basic that I don't know why I have to say it.

You saying it and you claiming the club saying it are two completely different things. The first is fine and the second isn't. That's pretty obvious too.

Do you genuinely believe the Club will just have zero contingency plan if the verdict doesn’t go our way, even if they’re confident it will? That just isn’t how any organisation in any industry would ever operate.

Of course not, what I contest is that they have countenanced even the remotest possibility of a negative outcome in anything they have said.

Last reply. Believe who and what you like. But I am not making it up.
I accept that they are prepared for any contingency however unlikely and someone at the club may well have indicated that to you privately but their public pronouncements about our total innocence are utterly emphatic and completely unqualified in that respect since 2023. Our chairman has had his integrity shockingly challenged by the PL and he has put his personal reputation is on the line by repeated public assurances we have done nothing wrong.
I believe him and also believe he has known what the final outcome will be since at least the turn of the year.

That is self-evident but not the issue being debated. I would add that if any of the substantive charges are upheld it would be catastrophic for our club.
Which is exactly why they would be negligent in the extreme if they didn't have a contingency plan for that, however unlikely they may think it to be. It also doesn't stop them making public pronouncements of innocence and confidence. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

It's "Stupid", I'm afraid. It's embarrassing to witness.

Getting close to 6,000 pages now (12,000 in old money!!!), you could condense the thread down to maybe a dozen pages if you kept only factual or at least well informed speculative posts. I wonder if @jimharri is busy ;)
Even if I had fuck all to do, that would not be my idea of a fun way to pass the time! And if only factual posts, rather than conjecture or guesswork nonsense, or stuff like "my sister's boyfriend's milkman's hairdresser's postman has an ITK know friend and he swears blind yada yada yada", you'd get it down to 3 or 4 pages.
