My comment was in reply to someone mentioning Foden's achievements, and claiming Grealish had achieved nothing of note, or words to that effect. I also said in the sentence before that which you highlighted, Foden's amazing for his age, so...

The Villa fans know they don't want to sell. The Villa fans know Grealish won't 'play up' to get a move. Why do they need to comment on a situation that hasn't happened?

Grealish has 'proven his worth', also...unless you believe the only way you can do so is by 'winning something'? He dragged Villa out of the Championship on his shoulders and kept them up when they were newly promoted, with a basically new team, and has put in consistent, game-controlling...

I get the 'sell and strengthen overall' argument. There's a stronger than usual emotional connection for the fans where Jack's concerned, though. Also, it's just amazing having a world-class (imo! :-)) operator playing for us. It's been 20 odd years since the last one!

Yeah, Villa are in a race against time, trying to match Jack's personal ambitions. The fans know this. If he wasn't a Villa boy he'd be gone already, no doubt.

Agreed, mate. It's not easy. That's why the Villa owners won't want to lose Jack. It would be massively deflating to the wave of optimism they've built around the club. It's more than just losing his ability on the field.
