Suck It and See - Arctic Monkeys: review.

only my opinion, but... Arctic Monkeys are shit. Tuneless, emotionless pretentious drivel. And to the OP, your complex point scoring system is laughable. You can't rate art in numbers, it's not a maths test.

    Hay Fever :(

I'm on clarityn + prescription tablets, eyedrops and nasal spray, yet it still seems to do nothing for me. Basically I have to confine myself to the house- starts to flair up as soon as I go outdoors. The only thing that really helps are heavy showers to dampen down the pollen levels. I've been...

    Crying Fans.....

Don't be harsh. I've no particular affinity for either of the teams that went down today but watching those pictures gave me a moving reminder of what we've been through over the years, and I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone. Let's show a bit of grace and humility after our most...

    Tevez Free Kick V Stoke

don't get me wrong elano's was top notch, but this one was something else. It reminded me of that free kick by Roberto Carlos, when Barthez just stood there waiting for it to go miles wide before it swerved back in to the top corner.

    Joy Division/New Order

Well we'll have to agree to disagree on this one because for me the actual music is far more important than the lyrics. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate good lyrics (like Curtis's) but they are nothing without a good musical backing, whereas there are plenty of fine instrumental tracks.

    Joy Division/New Order

I wasn't comparing sumner's singing to Curtis's, I was just saying that Sumner had a much greater influence on Joy Division's sound, due to his guitars, synths, and his role as the kind of director or arranger of the music. And besides, I do quite like Sumner's singing on Ceremony, it sounds...

    Joy Division/New Order

But the lyrics are only one part of the song. What about the guitar, bass, drums? Would you be calling it a 'cover' if one of the other members of the band had died? Don't get me wrong about Curtis, I think he was a wonderful lyricist and a brilliant writer and his death was completely and...

    Joy Division/New Order

The New Order version is fantastic, what's your problem with it? And New Order are Joy Division basically, so I don't see how you can 'cover' yourself.

    Joy Division/New Order

Boy oh boy, with Joy Division & New Order where do you start? Here however are a few to get you started though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEJpmDUMKco http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgD1lfdNivo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMZ3E6rWNd4 I could go on and on, Disorder, Vanishing Point, All...

    Joy Division/New Order

Yeah Curtis and Gretton were City fans, the rest I think occasionally claimed to be rags but weren't really that into football (despite doing the WC song, they were only in it for the £££), Top top bands though, Lonesome Tonight by New Order is my favourite song of all time.

    Jo

The dive was atrocious but I think people should cut him a bit of slack, worked really hard for the team tonight and set up quite a few chances (ball into Ade at the end was great). Good squad player, and as we saw v Fulham has an aerial aspect to his game that other forwards we have don't

    Pet Hates

I do that all the time. What's wrong with it? What is so irritating about a door being left open? It saves me the effort of having to open it again in a few minutes when I get up to get a drink. My girlfriend's always ranting at me about it, even if I leave it a few millimetres ajar. What's the...

Gov't to sell off our forests

Exactly, the fact is woodland in this country has been decimated, for millennia the whole country was covered by forests and now they're about 12% of the land use, and of that 12% only 2% is even 'semi-natural', the rest is all managed plantations for business, rather than actual wild woodland...

    parents who........

Utter bollocks 1. I treat my children as my equals. You must have a rather distant relationship with your kids if you think they are 'beneath you' and shouldn't be your mate till they've 'contributed'. Just because they are young and vulnerable and need our care and protection doesn't mean...
