A voice of sanity in an insane world. Well said Moz!

    Apprentice Union?

Well I suppose it had to happen eventually - a post from SWP's Back that I agree with 100%! Seriously though, that was not intended as a snide comment. I fully accept that people on this board have different political views to mine. I'm genuinely pleased that political debate is alive and well...

    Apprentice Union?

Like all trade union general secretaries, Bob Crow is subject to regular election by law. You might not like him but his members keep electing him so he must be doing something right. When he was first elected he polled nearly twice the votes of the other candidates put together.

    Apprentice Union?

Most positions in trade unions are subject to annual election by the members they represent. If your rep is ineffective or you think they are in management's pocket with one eye on their future career prospects then there is nothing to stop the members electing a new steward.

    Apprentice Union?

Most local reps should be trained to a level where they know the basics around employment law and about the employers procedures eg discipline/grievance. If they can't answer the would go to the branch secretary or similar for advice on what to do with a particular case. On cases that may...

    Apprentice Union?

Or alternatively, my fellow trade unionist could just be pissed off that, once again, a thread where a lad was asking for advice about a work issue and he mentioned trade unions the usual suspects couldn't wait to post slagging trade unionists off. Anyway, anyone know if the OP got his problem...

    Apprentice Union?

He's the leech? Because he's non union in your eyes? Grow up.[/quote The Tories on here don't half stick together don't they? A demonstration of comradely solidarity that warms the heart. You should form a union.

    Apprentice Union?

Apprenticeships are normally placed through a Learning Provider such as a college and there should be a written agreement as to what training should be provided. If you've been placed through a Learning Provider try to speak to them and raise your concerns, they may be able to advise you.

    Celebs... who have you met

I've met Johnny Marr a couple of times, the last time at the City reception at the town hall before the parade a couple of weeks ago, and he was a dead nice bloke both times. And he gave me one of his personalised plectrums, I didn't have to nick it!

    City's 'Softest' Ever Player ?

I'm amazed it took 4 pages before this shithouse got a mention. I'd also add Nicky Fucking Summerbee to the list. I used to go berzerk watching this pussy bottle out of tackles that were 70/30 in his favour. Shithouse who couldn't give a fuck about City.

    Neil Young

As another poster said if you're a newcomer to Neil Young then get 'Decade'. When I first got into Neil Young that was the one recommended to me and I fell in love with it. I can still remember buying it from the long-closed Polar Bear on Deansgate and the owner smiling at me as if to say"good...

    Happy birthday Morrissey!!

Happy birthday Moz! Keep on getting up the nose of twats the world over! On a side note I met my all time hero and Moz's former partner in crime Johnny Marr at the reception for City at Manchester Town Hall last week. An absolute gentleman, and he gave me on of his personalised plectrums. Top...

The 'I deserve a ticket for QPR' thread

If only this was true mate. I was a season ticket holder between 1986-2009. For reasons that are nobody elses business I had to give up my season ticket in 2009. I went to every home game throughout this period. I went to probably around 60% of the away games. I was at Wembley against...

Wolves vs City: A technical analysis

Thanks for posting, that has got to be one of the most informative and interesting posts I've ever read on Bluemoon. The attention to detail is almost freakish! I'm 43 and thought I knew my football but some of that was a real eye-opener for me. I was particularly pleasd about the analysis of...

    Last minute winner?

We've all got our opinion but I really can't understand anyone picking a Rag player og for this one. If this were to happen it would be a defining moment in the club's history. Possibly the pivotal moment when the pendulum swung in our favour. In that one second we could change history - the...

    Queen

Me and a mate used to have a regular pissed conversation where we'd come up with a 'Shit Bands XI'. We used to get Status Quo at left back and Dire Straits on the right wing. But the conversation always used to start "Queen in goal, obviously". Worst. Band. Ever.

    Manchester Central Labour Selection

Can I ask why you felt he had a strong dislike of black people? The reason I ask is that I know Tony Lloyd a bit having worked on a number of trade union events with a strong anti-racist theme that Tony has supported such as the Hope Not Hate campaign. I can only say what my experience of him...
