    Kolarov

Rekik is nowhere near the level required to play left back in our system. I would assume Zaba will cover both flanks... unless there are more changes planned at full back... Strange deal this one, surely he's worth more than £6m to us? Who can we buy that is a marked improvement on him?

So who paid out the £60m last season? And the £20m this season so far? Have trhe rags been taken over and no one knows about it?

    Adebayour to spurs 8 mil?

Re: Adebayor What reputation? He was Spurs best striker last season, scored loads, made loads, not a hint of trouble. He told everyone he loved it there. Even AVB still wants him. Or is he being ignorant about Adebayor's reputation as well?

    Adebayour to spurs 8 mil?

Re: Adebayor Apparently he's been offered a 4-year £20m deal plus a £5m signing on fee. That's £25m over the next 4 years. Add to that his last six years wages and that's probbaly another £20m. How much is enough? He's paid £170k a week to play for City. He doesn't play for City now. He's...

    Adebayour to spurs 8 mil?

Re: Adebayor If Spurs are offering him £70k a week, then they can afford to sweeten the deal with a £7m offer to Adebayor to make up for the pitifully small transfer fee being asked of them. For £5m you get Cameron Jerome, not a 15 goal a season Premiership player.

I must admit that it makes me smile as well every time I read that the rags are skint. I think they spent more than us last season, and are already up £20m this close season. The rags business model is predicated on them being the biggest and best. Second place will not sustain them...

    Fanzine Collectors (ChipsnGravy)

Actually, it was Dagenham Dan the Manyoo fan. But the rest of it is correct! That was his local where he watched all the rags games on the box... Who could ever forget Boz, Skaggs and Frelly, the three Salford rags? Inspirational.

    christian negouai - your memories

For his first three years at City I pronounced his surname as "Neg-oo-ay". In the fourth year I found out that you pronounced it "Neg-why". Never trusted him after that...

    Dark Knight Rises

I just thought he paled against the classic Batman villains. Apart from being a bit of a bruiser, what was his raison detre'? Tom Hardy is a great actor, but he was largely wasted hidden behind a distributor cap wheezing like a poor-man's Darth Vader. Like you say, it's all about opinions...

    Dark Knight Rises

A bit disappointing to be brutal. Huge fan of the Batman films, the Christopher Nolan series has been outstanding and unlikely to be bettered. But this film lacked the "wow" factor that the other two had. Overly long, too many cops and robbers chases, it lacked the intimacy and depth of the...

Bands replacing Iconic singers - does it ever really work?

It doesn't usually work but there a a few exceptions... Steve Hogarth actually worked well with Marillion, Phil Collins squeezed a couple of decent albums out of Genesis before they became his backing band, The current Jam line-up with the replacement for Paul Weller are excellent, The Beatles...

If Mancini is at odds with the owners, couldn't he have clarified his position when he was signing his new contract a few weeks ago! Why wait till now? Surely he got assurances as to who he could sign? It would be barmy if he hadn't strenghtened his position at the club this summer.

I see the Danielle de Rossi rumours are picking up pace in Italy again this weekend... as predicted three weeks ago!

    Brian Glanville (merged)

Re: Brian Glanville I love the way that, even at 81, he is still a cool dude with his check shirts and t-shirt provocatively peeking from beneath. In a certain light he almost looks like a young Elvis. And that's why his views must be taken seriously by the younger generation. I bet he even...

    Adebayour to spurs 8 mil?

Re: Adebayor Nobody is going to pay £20m for Carroll. So I wouldn't get too excited that they'd use that money to buy Adebayor...

    Adebayour to spurs 8 mil?

"Journalist doesn't do research nor understand his subject" Shocker! It's not only Adebayor that's stealing a living from us, but the quality and standard in football journalism in this country is only slightly higher than the Iraqi media while the US tanks were rolling into Baghdad... And...

    Brian Glanville (merged)

Re: Brian Glanville I reckon he's got piles. Fucking massive plum-sized throbbers. It's not only daft twats like Brain G-G-G-Glanville that get me down, but the interviewers NEVER take them to task about their pompous ill-informed opinions. They get a free 10 minutes to vent their spleen...

Who from our current squad is the strangest signing?

Re: Who from our current squad has been our strangest signing? RSC. It's a signing that had it been done under any other organsiation would have resulted in a criminal investigation! Had been out three months with an injury when he signed for us, wasn't fit for another three months! And we...

It's quiet 10, no apologies! (continued)

I've known the "source" (Ged) for many years. He's a good lad, a bit over the top in his love of City but I can assure you that he has lots of contacts within the club, and knows pretty much every young player that has come through the ranks over the years. Having said that, he only knows the...
