Should we have bought Kagawa? He makes United better.

We can't buy every decent player just because if we don't Chelsea, United, Spurs etc will be stronger.

Concentrate on areas we need strengthening and then buy the best available.

In the current situation that means a definite no to Van Persie or indeed any other striker. Unless of course we sell. But that doesn't seem likely. Tevez seems back in the fold. Edin has said he wants to say. So unless Kun or Balo are off then we don't need Falcao, Cavani however good they are.

We do need midfield reinforcements though. Martinez and Cazorla would be excellent.

Let's wait and see about Kagawa eh?

Well bearing in mind their creative options in midfield are zilch if we ignore the overhyped Cleverly, then I'd say the Japanese midfielder will definitely improve United.
But we shouldn't have and didn't buy him as we already have players in his position. That is my point.

Not sure where people have got the idea from that we are in for RVP to stop United signing him? Mancini clearly rates him very highly and thinks he'll improve us, and I totally agree with him. I'd be prepared to see Dzeko go to Milan to make room for him. In fact, to me it's a no brainer.

Fair enough. But we saw in the euros where the game is won and lost, in midfield. And while we have Yaya , Nasri and Silva, still feel we could do with more class players in this area.

Barry is not Busquets. De Jong is not Alonso, and Milner, don't quite know what Mancini's plans are for him.

I hope the rumours that we're in for Martinez are true. Top quality player this lad. I'd like to think that we can be active on more than one target at a time.

I see Chemical Alex's big pal Bob Cass has been forced to plant his usual downplaying of expectations today on the back of the Mail on Sunday.

Just 24 hours after the pisscan announced he was forced to declare United's bid, because Arsenal had done so (still waiting for anyone to produce evidence of this) United now fear being blown out of the water by City.

Mancini is at odds with the owners and demanding they pay whatever it takes to secure RVP and United won't be held to ransom and they will continue to put their faith in youth.

This is unlike City, who he considers as favourites for the title ("No doubt about that") yet insists he isn't losing sleep and United are the team to fear.

So many contradictions, so many lies. Groundhog day.

Cheers Tolm.

If Mancini is at odds with the owners, couldn't he have clarified his position when he was signing his new contract a few weeks ago!

Why wait till now? Surely he got assurances as to who he could sign?

It would be barmy if he hadn't strenghtened his position at the club this summer.
