12th April Pubs Go Live (well outside anyway).

The Grosvenor Pulford are busy putting up a big marquee in their car park today, about 25 metres from the border with Wales. They are probably expecting large throngs of thirsty Welshmen to arrive on Monday. Pubs aren't re-opening in Wales until the 26th....

    Coronavirus (2021) thread

I can't stand Drakeford but on this it's maybe down to local organisational factors? Having said that, its annoying that whilst in England - as I understand it - you can book a jab online, but here in Wales most of us have to wait to be contacted. Luckily our local medical practice seem to be...

    Coronavirus (2021) thread

Where in Wales are you located? Here in NE Wales I had my first jab exactly 2 weeks ago. I am nearly the age as you BTW, just 1 year younger. My wife is 54 and had her jab the day after me.

Energy, the environment & climate change.

As I recall it the WA Government under Charlie Court were looking at a nuclear power station in the late 1970s. They even identified a site, around 80Kms north of Perth. I thought it was at Ledge Point but a wiki search tells me that it was at a place a bit further south. I think back in...

    TV Series

I'll give that a try. We've been really enjoying Offspring on Netflix: Aussie comedy/drama centred on an Obstetrician and her chaotic family. Very well written and acted, hilarious at times.

The Kompany, Silva and Aguero Statues

If they ever decide to erect one for Maguire (probably unlikely TBF) they could buy a spare one from Easter Island and ship it over

Energy, the environment & climate change.

National Grid's Future Energy Scenarios are a good source of information on potential future energy needs by use. They also describe future supply options by technology/resource to enable achievement of the Net Zero by 2050 target (and, interestingly, how consumer behaviour will need to change...

    Coronavirus (2021) thread

Funnily enough I was originally supposed to be there right now, this minute. There's a 40th anniversary school reunion happening right now (from 8pm Perth, WA, time) that's been planned for over 12 months. My best mate from school organised it and I would have been there...

    City’s New Kits - 2021/22

Having a sponsor's logo on a national team shirt just doesn't seem right to me for some reason

    City’s New Kits - 2021/22

I thought I'd test myself on this. I knew Leicester straight off. I also know the Spurs one but don't have a clue what their sponsor's product actually is, but I;m guessing it might be something to do with insurance? I'm fairly sure the other two are betting sites of some type. I'm not sure...

Has anybody got a great curry sauce recipe?

Cheers, I've been on the lookout for something different and I will definitely try that one. I do like coriander though. It's not a curry, but I regularly (i.e. weekly) cook a recipe that combines chicken and A LOT of coriander. It's actually a recipe for BBQ or oven grilled chicken called Ping...

Has anybody got a great curry sauce recipe?

I've never really found a vegetarian curry recipe I'm 100% happy with. If I want to go meat free I have had better results with spicy noodles - e.g. it's possible to make a really great version of Szechuan-style Dan Dan noodles using Quorn mince.

Has anybody got a great curry sauce recipe?

My favourite curry recipe is for one called Gang Hung Lay from Northern Thailand. It's unusual for a Thai curry as it uses no coconut milk. The other thing is that it is based on pork belly and pork ribs, so nothing like you you get from the usual Bangladeshi run UK Indian curry house (not...
