    Last Film You Saw

I quite like it. It's better than most of the other big budget toss that was being chucked out at the end of the 70s. I remember yawning through Beyond the Poseidon Adventure, The Swarm and The Day Time Ended about that time.

    Last Film You Saw

Funnily enough I watched The Missouri Breaks (1976) last night and Brando was nuts in it. Great movie though - Part Western, part caper flick.

    Running the length of Africa

As someone who's been working in central Africa on and off for the past decade, I hope he's got gallon drums of insect repellent and a cavernous arse to hide his valuables in.

Yeah, Bush vipers are right bastards.

    Worst pain you've experienced

Being bitten by a leaf viper in Congo-Brazzaville. I had 12 hours waiting for medical evacuation watching my hand swell up like I was in a Warner Bros cartoon and someone dropped an anvil on it. The pain was surreal and the local clinic had no pain killers. Good times.

Cocaine Bear (2023) - It's like a '70s New World Pictures B-movie and very funny.

    Ribery Breaking News......(MERGED)

Re: Ribery Breaking News...... Because it ISN'T British clubs between themselves - the window is for registering players - European clubs can't register players but British teams can so transfers from European teams to British clubs are acceptable.

    I have just been told.............Update page 39

Re: I have just been told............. What does he offer us? Crossing ability - from the right, fair enough, but both Petrov and Bridge cross as good a ball in my opinion - and both are quicker and more direct. Petrov also offers a goal threat - Bentley might, but records suggest not on...

    Arjen Robben

Your justification for signing Robben and dropping SWP is that Cappelo is off his head? Robben's an excellent player, but if people complain that Petrov can't be arsed tracking back, wait until you see Robben's defensive 'effort'. As part of a front three, he'd be a real asset but who out of...

    Sell Petrov immediately!

Jesus Christ. It's frightning how fast we turn on players sometimes. All he did was ask for a bit of clarification on his role and all of a sudden, based on one translated interview he's a troublemaker. He's the definition of an impact sub and I think he'll still see a fair bit of playing...

    Petrov to leave?

He's the only orthodox left winger at the club. He offers the side a completely different option. Him and SWP in partnership represent as good a traditional winger pairing as there is in this league. I can see the reason why he wants to go given his age and the likely number of games he'll...

Why Moyes & Everton have us over a barrel...

I think the reason why we were invested in was a unique piece of good fortune of being available cheap (ish), with an owner desperate to sell and excellent contacts in the international business world (unlike Ashley, it would seem) and in an area ripe for re-development where significant...

Why Moyes & Everton have us over a barrel...

True, it probably is - though if that's an implicit criticism of City for making an approach for Lescott, it applies with equal validity to Everton for making an approach to Sheffield United for Kyle Naughton. That cuts both ways. Can't disagree here. Nor here - I don't blame Moyes at all...

    Alex/Bassong Alternatives For Lescott

Show me a popular loser and I'll show you a loser. You'd swap respect for trophies tomorrow, and you know it - oh, and when you tried (and failed) to sign Kyle Naughton from a poorer club, how were your morals different to ours? Clown.

We will not finish top 6...

Fine, but we don't do our business in isolation, we do it in a market where we've got to operate. That market is impacted by our ability to spend. If a team sells us a player, then they need to replace that player with money we've given them - If we bought Lescott from Everton for an...

Sven off to Notts County ??

I share an office with a county fan - he's gone from joy to dispair in a week.

    Goldenballs Beckham

He'll offer us virtually nothing on the playing side and he's hardly a Hughes - type player, so if he does turn up (God forbid) it'll say a fair bit about transfer policy. Frankly I think it's BS.

    laughing stock!

I agree that Eto'o not coming isn't the end of the world, but let's not over-compensate by making claims which are a bit daft - not least because at least 4 of those players have very patchy injury records and as a result all 8 contributed I guess 50 league goals between them last season. We...

    Kyle Naughton to everton

Decent player from what little I've seen of him - quick and a decent tackler too from what I remember. Potentially another decent lower-league steal by Gollum.
