I preferred it when we were sh1t

I think the most memorable game I ever went to was a 3-3 at Walsall (Dibble going off injured while 2-0 down!)

I preferred it when we were sh1t

Before The Hillsbough Disaster it was my favorite away ground, although the last game I went there was Gary Flitcroft's debut, I'm told it hasn't aged well since then, in the 80s it was easily in the top half dozen grounds in the country

I preferred it when we were sh1t

To be honest especially away from home the more successful we have become the more I have seen disagreements between our supporters. I remember going to a game away to Sheff Wed one year and just being thrilled when we won a corner!

    City's 1960s team

I recall watching something on Grandstand where Jimmy Hill went through the future England side.... going to say the summer of 1979 or so and City had or would sign more than half the side(Kevin Reeves, Paul Futcher, Owen, Barnes, Williams, Daley and I think a couple more got spoken about)...

    City's 1960s team

They don't do sendings off like they used to any more!

    City's 1960s team

What people will miss about that is that 750K likely would have placed Robinson in the top 10-15 signing of cost wise at the time I would think! Recall reading that it was a record for highest fee received at Preston for something like 20 odd years!

    City's 1960s team

I have heard from a number of people(not connected with City)that Daley was someone alot of clubs were sniffing around at the time. Robinson though was kind of out of left field LOL! which given the careers they, respectively would ended up having is something of an irony.

    City's 1960s team

Couldn't agree more with you, although for what its worth I wouldn't have changed the journey I have had as a supporter of the club for all the money in the world(my first game was the year before Allison returned). That being said I think to this day we are still dealing with the damage that...

    Ref Watch

I just saw that, I simply can't figure that one out that was as clear a pen and a red card as you could get and while this might be unpopular with some here it was 100 times more a pen than the Everton one which seemed pretty harsh to me

    City's 1960s team

Don't get me wrong I'm not defending Allison's second stint with us, for what its worth the issues we had for 20 years I blame primarily on three people Swales, Allison and Ball(I would include Lee if it was four!). My point was simply the documentary's timing was such that it really couldn't...

    Arsenal (A) Post Match thread

Given at the end of November Champions League qualification looked like it would be a fight, its an amazing turnaround.

    City's 1960s team

Can't believe that I'm defending Allison here(as I never saw him the first time round just the second time), but the issue with that documentary was simply the timing, it showcased the last couple of weeks of Allison's time at the club and by then the whole thing had totally unraveled.

    City's 1960s team

you have just insulted the whole world's huckster community with your post...

    City's 1960s team

I recall malcolm allinson's second time at the club and it got me thinking about non-league players I'm pretty sure he signed the last two the club signed (David Wiffill and Paul Sugrue) I can't think of any since then

Best player we brought in on loan or free?

Shocked no one brought up Peter Reid..... forgetting his management with us, he played over 100 games for the club on a free.

    City's 1960s team

I was pondering this this morning and I'm wondering for those that had the chance to see the 60s City team of Bell Lee and Summerbee, is it fair to say that they didn't achieve as much as perhaps they should have, given the level of talent they had? and if so what would you put it down to?

Let's be honest not many people saw that one coming!

    Diego Maradona

Had the chance to see him plat for Naples in the 1980s(in Naples), a really unique experience, Zabaleta became a Manchester born player during his time with us, Maradona was Naples... the good and the bad. The one thing you have to say huge loss in so many respects but he sure got his monies...

Prices of attending games post Covid?

What happens post Covid will be really interesting, clubs like City might look at a more game-day revenue model, over season-ticket model, if the demand is there

    Maine Road or Etihad

Some of my happiest moments as a football supporter was walking to Maine Road from Withington with my Granddad as a child himself had walked to Hyde Road to watch City(although he switched to the rags after the war). Maine Road, especially near the end wasn't great and we really had to move, but...
