Wycombe Wanderers and Wolverhampton Wanderers both did the double over us in consecutive seasons during our climb back from the (real) third division to the first if I remember correctly.

Uefa release 'Elite Club Protection' regulations

The Champions League is funded to the tune of hundreds of millions of pounds by its sponsors. They pay UEFA for the privilage of their brands being associated with the best teams, players and competition in Europe. So City win the League (it is going to happen sooner or later), they have some...

The highest English football crowd outside of Wembley was City Stoke in the FA cup. The highest league crowd was utd Arsenal at Maine Rd. The Stoke game was the bigger attendance.

Petition - No to Cardiff !!

There is no shuch thing as the EPL or the English football league. It is the Premier League and the Football League and they were set up as such. The Football League was always open to all British teams if they wanted to apply and was quite supprised back in the 1880's that two certain Scotish...

    Full Members Cup 1986

I remember chelsea fans smashing up the tube on the way to Wembley and then climbing over the entrance barriers to get in. I don't remember much of a police presence that day. Did enjoy the come back though. If the game had gone on for another five minutes I am sure we would have won. Both teams...

David Phillips (I thought he deserved a thread)

Saw him score a great goal from about 40 yards out at Maine Road. Can't remember when or who the opposition were but I am sure it won goal of the month.

    Manchester City Developments Limited

I don't think we ever averaged 44k during the 70s and 80s. We were normaly around the mid 30s only peaking at 40k the season we were runners up to Liverpool. After relegation against Luton our crowds went fron 34 to 26k. By the mid 80s in the old division 2 when Maine Road still held nearly 52k...

    Southampton = relegation already?

Wolves went 2nd to the old 1st and then straight down in successive seasons to the 4th division in the 80's.

    60,000 at Eastlands

First game of last season against WHU we had 36000. On Saturday against Wolves we had 47000. An increase of 11000 in a year and we have still not won out. A couple of years of sustained success and maybe the odd trophy 60000 will sell out no problem.

    New Ticket Prices!

Of course you can. I am just trying to understand the OP. Have all tickets gone up by a tenner or did the poster just miss the boat getting the cheaper tickets?

    New Ticket Prices!

I am confused by this post. Have match day tickets gone up by a tenner? Or is it just that the cheeper tickets have already sold out and only the dearer tickets are available. If this is the case surely this is sign of things to come. We want the ground to fill and the cheapest tickets will...

Your best away day/ trip ever???

Leeds 1983 Parlane scored the winner in a very sweet 2-1 win for City. I had been exiled in Yorkshire since the age of eight and had learned to hate Leeds with a passion. We were force marched from the station to the ground that season and there was trouble the whole route. On the way home it...

Most hated club after the Rags.

    1. Sold Bulldog outside ground in 70's 2. Ripping up seats in the Platlane. 3. Giving me hell during the years I was forced to live in Yorkshire ('76 to '89). 4. Thick, nasty humourless fans. Always quick to jump ship. 5. Ken Bates. There is more but I need to calm down now. Oh I hate spurs as...
