£10 Parking..

Think the club should meet with the police and get this sorted out. The reason why fans stream out 10 mins before the game because they know it adds an hour onto their journey home if they leave on time. The london boys don't have that problem because of the tube, thats why the grounds still fairly full when the whistle goes. It cant be good for the players moral when they see an empty stadium at full time after they just put in a good perfomance. Besides it gives fans of other clubs a chance to take the piss. Surely this can be sorted out if they put their heads together a bit more. Oh!! by the way 10 quid is way too much to pay for a few hours of parking.

So i took a "choice", i headed home...
I watched the remainder of the match on TV.
I then went on the internet.
I ordered a movable satellite system.
Next week i will see every home and away match including 3pm kick offs.
Costs = £400

Funny thing it's not a money issue with me personally, just a principle thing.
I was buying a better season ticket this year and parking/food is/was included.
That idea is scrapped!

So i have just been to my last match. (which i didn't actually see)
I'm not anti City, they are in my blood.
But i will no longer be a supporter. I will just be a arm chair fan.
And that is my choice!

For a £400 satalite you also get more porn than you can shake a stick at you won't get that at the COMS........lol.

Last time i parked near Maine Road it cost me £2 for a kid to 'mind your car mister'. That was around 1990. Taking inflation into account then a tenner aint bad..

The issue with the hike is the percentage. 100%. If they did that with me ST then a doubling of the price is staggering. By the time the ST hits a grand I expect to be too infirm to attend!

What about all the numpties who were allowed to park on the main road leaving the North Car Park. Took up a whole lane and made it harder for eveyone to get out. And no, they weren't all disabled fans or hard of moving. I saw two perfectly fit people get out of a car and walk off who were parked there.

Think thats the issue people are missing... What if a pint was £7.80 would the 100% increase be ok? Or a programme for say £6, hotdog for £8. It's not that £10 is particularly over the top but to increase it by 100% is a joke, even if they had informed me when getting my season card or even via the text I got last week thanking me for my ticket then it wouldnt of been an issue, the fact they never mentioned it was. Even the car park staff were cringing at the fact they had to ask for £10 rather than the £5 it was last season, you could see every car moaning about it.
Also for those who say "dont eat" or "park 10mins walk away" then read my earlier posts and you will see this isnt an option. With regards to the dissability pass my old man is very proud and doesnt think he qualifies even though having a heart attack last week, Anjina and Bell's Palsy from a previous attack two months ago! It's me who is going to have to ask for him. He just wants us to be able to park close enough to walk up to the ground and walk back again without having to pay through the nose (£190 just for league games this season without the added cost of the Europa League, and cup games), without minimum fuss or spend an hour trying to get out afterwards. Yes we leave 5mins early but it takes him longer to walk to the car, do we leave 10mins early? Either way some other fucker will moan we're not real fans due to us leaving early whether it's 5-10mins.
Just accept a £5 increase may not seem much to some but when you add the rest of the money spent on a match day then it starts to become expensive.
A quick note on the post above: The R8 was parked on the raised hump that you walked accross to get to the car park, I asked if I could park there next week and was told no! One rule for one eh, seems unless you drive an R8, Merc or BMW then you cant. Obviously my Audi A3 isnt posh enough, lol.

Get the 'hard of moving' (as one poster puts it) pass and don't tell your old man. Sneak it out to display once he's out of the car.

Not being an arse, could you not drop your old man off close as possible, park bit further away then meet him at your gate?
Just trying to think of ways aorund it for you fella, I had to do that when my dad was aorund!
But yeah the price increase is out of order!

Good idea but one flaw... I'd miss 15-20mins of the match running to get the car! Wasnt aware of this "hard of moving" pass so will look into that. Cheers for the heads up stonerblue.
With regards to the price £10 is as some say in line with other clubs but it's the way in which it's just been hiked up 100%, it's the principle I guess not the price. If they lowered it again and then said next season it'll be £10, then I wouldnt have an argument as I would be aware and could either pay it or look to park somewhere else.

I've just paid £150 for a car park s/t.

For the 19 league games that works out at £7.89 per game. Add on your cup games and this figure comes down a fair bit. I can't be arsed working out how many home cup games we might potentially play, but for arguments sake if we have six cup games at home, meaning 25 home games in total, then the price per game is £6.

Not bad if you can get to every game.

I think it's fair enough to pay a premium to park on the site. If it's a fiver at the velodrome than you'd expect to pay a bit more to park that bit closer.
