£10 Parking..

If you are prepared to walk ten minutes there's free car parking... five minutes walk and it's a fiver... the City chippy costs a couple of quid... Asda maybe £4 for a meal.

Bring a pie or a sandwich or eat before you come out... why are people so fucking hungry between 3 and 5 when they would normally be at school, college or work and not eating?

I weary at reading people whinging about non-footballing prices when there is always an alternative.

Programme for £3? Then listen to the team changes on the PA before the match started.

It's a football match, not a fucking day out shopping!

I park for free 10 minutes from the ground and 5 minutes to the nearest official car park.

Would I pay a tenner? You must be mad.

However, I do agree with the OP that the 100% price increase and a tenner to park your car for 2 hours is shocking. It 's more expensive than Manchester Airport, and that is bad.

I think you're all missing the point from the OP.

Ok,so parkings a tenner, those of us that can, will adapt, and change our routine ( not a problem).

As I said in my post, food on the concourse is expensive, but fair do's, it's advertised at that price so you take it or leave it.

What gets me is the fact that the club have taken a decision to hike up the prices by 100%, and took NO STEPS WHATSOEVER, to inform the fans...strange as they seem mad keen to communicate every other thing they've done, from setting up bars all around the world, and rooftop pitches in harlem etc.

Now if they can do that with the parking, what else can they choose to do..I can easily see us slipping into the same scenario that the rags have faced with being forced to buy Champions League/FA cup tickets whether they could attend or not...remember how we we used to laugh at them.

We are going to have some of the best players in the world at our place, and we are going to have pay for it, I accept that..but all I'm asking for is a bit of openess and honesty about the bad as well as the good, from my club.

I think you should have been around at the time of Swales and Lee if you think the current lot are secretive!

I think not notifying you that the parking charges had gone up to a tenner is not one of the worst things the club has ever done to the fans, to be brutally honest.

When you got to the pay point and found out the price, maybe rather than pay you just turn the car around and go somewhere else?

Just a thought.

You might be able to get a disabled parking pass if that is the case.

He has one but they still friggin charge £10 to park! Will get him to ring up on Monday and quizz whoever and try and sort it. Just think a 100% increase is a bit steep.

They don't charge on a disabled parking pass.

You can't use your Blue Badge it's MCFC parking pass

I was around back then Smartarse, and I know sticking a fiver on parking prices is nothing compared with raising cash for a new stand then blowing it cos we got relegated...I remember OK?

I also lived in Abu Dhabi and have nothing but respect for our owners and the way they approach business...so this is not some small minded petty dig.

But at the end of the day They HAVE dropped a bollock with this particular issue, and we as fans should not be afraid to say something if we are pissed off about it. This is supposed to be a CLUB, and members of this club deserve to be informed of changes and the rationale behind them. Just because communication was crap in the past doesn't make it ok for it to be crap now.

And to re-iterate I have no problem with them charging a tenner..that is their right, but a bit of advance notice would have been appreciated..OK?

I actually tend to agree with you on most of that. It was inconsiderate and yet another example of City not getting it quite right.

I only recently had a bit of a to-do with the ticket office about prices and my response was to decide not to bother buying them. That was my only choice... other than accepting what she said even though I disagreed.

And that is the only recourse any of us have to poor service. Don't pay.

Oh, and one other point... we, as fans, might think it's a "club", but it is, in fact, a business, and people are kidding themselves if they think it is anything else nowadays.

But I understand your anger about it. So what do you intend doing? Other than coming on a messageboard to share your anger with us, will you actually be doing anything directly involving the club? Will you be making a complaint to them? Will you be notifying the appropriate person to ask why they couldn't be arsed telling anyone?

I will have a lot more respect if you take it further. But if you're just on here to moan...
