I was on the monarch flight home on Thursday from Barca, as was Txiki. With his wife so assumed he stayed on for an extra night in Barca after the team flew home.

He was asked by a few blues about the club, signings and spending etc.

He basically said that FFP has restricted who we've brought in this year, we have been shackled to a certain extent with the deals we have been able to put together (fee and wages). He also said next year we will spend very big with no restrictions.

I also managed to grab a quick work with him on the way to passport control and he again said we will spend very big in the summer.

Just passing on what I heard.
Next year 2016 ?

just read some comments in the mail under the manuel pellegrini story(about not leaving) and this one caught my eye some bloke from Liverpool ,now I know they are just comments but :)

Pellegrini is going nowhere, forget what this paper says, one thing i will say is City had to abide by FFP last year but the next transfer window will see some massive signings as City will offload 3-4 players and will have a transfer kitty of around 400 million, now believe it or not as i know they have this in their budget, they have just signed 3 major sponsorship deals which blows any English team out of the water. City knew at the start of the season this was going to be a difficult year and have budgeted for the 2015 season, now i know there is going to be a little backlash of comments here but i have the info. There is going to be one massive signing this summer which will be the biggest transfer in football history and may never be repeated, remember where you read it first.

The figure aside that post isn't as far fetched at it seems

So which part. Breaking the transfer record? If so who? Difficult to think of anyone bar Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar. Can't see the two Barca boys leaving and surely Ronaldo is too old for us to be spending 100 million. These are the only players who bring huge money to the buying club.

Lower level galacticos include Muller, Suarez, Bale. Maybe if Kroos is unhappy at Madrid. Reus. Who knows? I certainly don't.

But from the point of view of shirt sales, given the popularity of the PL, it might be that buying British or players currently plying their trade here, is the way forward marketing wise if not playing wise.
It depends on which currency you're using, Ronaldo went for £80 miil which was €94 mill at the time (according to Wiki). €94 mill now is "only" £64 mill so it would be possible to break the world transfer fee fairly easily if buying one of the usual suspects from Barca or Real right now.

also he talks of "3 major sponsorship deals which blows any English team out of the water" anyone have any info on what these sponsorship deals could be .

Noticed Yokohama Tire (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.yokohamatire.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.yokohamatire.com/</a>) were sponsoring NYCFC at the Yankee Stadium but are not a MCFC sponsor at the current time. City recently set up offices in Japan and there is the Nissan deal, so maybe these could be an upcoming sponsor.

Chelsea are sponsored by Yokohama Rubber, which I think is a separate company (or is it?).
If true then Etihad and Nike have to be 2 out of the 3 surely.

Yokohama Tire make tyres (obviously), Yokahama Rubber are a separate company and make condoms.

Either of them.
He's talking about Ricardo Rodriguez- one of the best left backs in the world that is still very young. Buying him for less money than shaw cost is a great deal

Is it though? Luke Shaw, one of the greatest LB's talents will count as a homegrown United player when he turns 21, not just trained in England. He might have played under his level, but he might come good later on.
The difference in quality, both potential and current, will far outweigh the fact that one of them is homegrown. There isn't a young left back in the world on his level in my opinion. According to whoscored.com he has scored 7 goals this season and assisted 3 in 26 games with an average rating of 7.65 and I'm pretty sure he got double figures for both of these last season, or was at least close with both. Shaw has admittedly played half the amount of games but has 0 assists or goals, which last seasons tally for all the hype about him was very similar to, with an average rating of 6.8.

I see what you did there, very good.

I wonder how many peoples heads that will go over? (I'm tempted to look for a suitable gif but I don't want to get banned).

Yokohama Tire is the American arm of the Japanese parent company, Yokohama Rubber. So no, they are not separate companies.

Very appropriate given all the Johnny come lately's......

So the difference is that you have to stop to buy a tyre whereas you buy the rubber to stop one.
