The figure aside that post isn't as far fetched at it seems

So which part. Breaking the transfer record? If so who? Difficult to think of anyone bar Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar. Can't see the two Barca boys leaving and surely Ronaldo is too old for us to be spending 100 million. These are the only players who bring huge money to the buying club.

Lower level galacticos include Muller, Suarez, Bale. Maybe if Kroos is unhappy at Madrid. Reus. Who knows? I certainly don't.

But from the point of view of shirt sales, given the popularity of the PL, it might be that buying British or players currently plying their trade here, is the way forward marketing wise if not playing wise.
It depends on which currency you're using, Ronaldo went for £80 miil which was €94 mill at the time (according to Wiki). €94 mill now is "only" £64 mill so it would be possible to break the world transfer fee fairly easily if buying one of the usual suspects from Barca or Real right now.
Except the world record is €100m (around £73m)

Lets get Pogba & Koke first.
Bale or Sterling would be improvement, both fantastic.
A left back who can defend.

The players need to be bought knowing what system we will play & their role within it.

Looks like quite a few will be moving out, not quite sure how easy that will be in practice based on past experiences.

Absolutely, past experience suggests we never seem to sell as many as some folk on here assume, and certainly not for the amounts expected (whereas the fees Chelsea sell for...)

I bet they would donate deal for 50m! He's a 25m player and a player who won't sign a new contract at that..

Daily Mail: Liverpool are willing to do business with City for Sterling at £50m and have already targeted Theo Walcott in case he leaves.
If we spend 80/90 million on Sterling and Barkley I will give up and support United (I wont, but you know what I mean).

I agree, even worse if we spunk £20m/£30m on Wilshere

If we could pick up sterling for 40 de bryune for 30 kondogbia for 30 and pogba/ koke for 50 million it would be an absolutely unbelievable summer as I think we will bring in over 100 million off sales!

£50m for Sterling alone would be a tad excessive; Rodgers has admitted that he's told him he won't discuss a new deal til the summer on the advice of his agent, so that leaves them with a bit of a dilemma regarding the chance of him playing out the last 2 years of his contract. If he did, he'd only be 22 so it is a conceivable possibility and one that LFC surely wouldn't risk. £35m should be the maximum we go; given Henderson is in a similar contractual situation putting £60m on the table for both would tempt their owners, especially if they miss out on Champions League income next season. Both would add some much needed mobility to the team, are young enough to represent good investments and also help us with the HG quota.
