Get this kid in he will be a perfect addition to our squad and if Pelle thinks he will be good for our style of play then let's trust his judgement for gods sake.

He was the 4th top goal scorer in the Spanish league last season.
He is strong, powerful and physical. Good in the air and knows where the
goal is. He will do well for us. 20 goals+ next season (all comps) I bet if he arrives.

And just as importantly he's been up there in the scoring charts for 3-4 seasons.

This is his chance. He'd be hungry and at the right age.

We are not looking for 'additions to our squad', we are looking for world class footballers at City!

I'm thinking if any of our kids are all that to be honest.

Mix em in there, i'll forever stand by that and if their not good enough then their not good enough.

I know there was only a brief mention of it without any link provided but if Lewandowski has reportedly said he will talk to city I wonder if the delay in making an offer for this lad is because we have gone back to Dortmund to see if we can get Lewandowski instead. :-)

So, for the nay-sayers, we have the chance of signing :

*A striker who scored 25 league goals in a 9th placed team (that only scored 58 all season) in - arguably - Europe's best league.

*A 27 year old available for 30m quid cheaper 26 year old Cavani, the scorer of 29 league goals in a 2nd place team (in Europe's 4th best league) that scored 73 all season.

*A squad member of the reigning World & European Champions (and favourites for the WC next year).

*A player who will not have to put all the miles on the clock that a South American equivalent would have to over the next year due to WC qualifying & home friendlies.

*A player who knows perfectly well how to play with our standout attacking signing so far, as he's already played with him for 4 seasons, and who also has experience of playing with our chief architect (Silva).

*A player who actually wants to come due to wages, manager & team-mates, and who currently plays in a league which is far more similar - in terms of attacking & defensive speed/play - to the PL than Serie A.

Tell me again why this DOESN'T make perfect sense ?

As he's about as mobile as Grant Holt.

If we want someone like that, it'd make sense to buy a similar player in holt for a tenth of the price.

Just asking as I've been working and not been able to read all the pages, but has Negredo said anything about us (positive or negative)?

Negredo has more talent in his left bollock than Holt has in his whole body.

Sign his left bollock by itself then it will be a lot cheaper for a backup striker.

Might as well go sign Shola Ameobi for less than Holt.

And his lack of mobility - as you put it - cancels out all of the above positive points? Torres' mobility could be classed as pretty good, bit his finishing in recent seasons has been utter gash (especially in important games and against high calibre opposition). Defoe's mobility is pretty sharp, but he doesn't have a particularly outstanding footballing brain and lots of moves invariably break down at his boots. Grant Holt scored 8 in 38 last season; Negredo scored 31 in 42.

I'm guessing that Holt's lack of mobility is far more detrimental to his overall game: as his scoring recording suggests, compared with your 'perceived' sluggishness in relation to Negredo's play, as his scoring record is up there with some of the best.
