It's quite annoying that foreigners refer to the rags as Manchester and us as just ' the City'. Hope this starts to change.

"Right now they are further away than where we were at [in negotiations] with Atletico Madrid. There have been advances, but we are still far from a deal.

"Sevilla have valued the player at a certain amount and that will vary depending on if it's a fixed sum or with variables. Either they pay what we ask, or the player stays with Sevilla for another three years.

"The chance that he goes right now is one per cent. In the last 15 days I have lowered the price by €0, I'm very generous.

"The substitute for Negredo is Negredo. For me the best thing is that he renews his deal for another two years and raises his clause."

It looks like it is coming down to valuation and Sevilla will not budge on that supposed €25m valuation.

I think Txiki is keeping his options open.

Personally I'd leave him where he is, and move on.

He's a good player, and would improve the side in a key area, but he's not a brilliant player - we shouldn't be bending over backwards and over-paying just to get him in. Particularly in light of the fact that his sell on value won't exactly be great as he's just about to turn 28.

We should stick to our valuation, and pursue other options rather than get drawn into a saga over a player who's really not worth it.

Are we actually making serious. as in sensible, offers for some of these players?

I am still not convinced that we didn't screw up on Isco by fannying around.

How many better options do we have for a centre forward? We wouldn't pay the money for Cavani. We aren't going to pay the money for Ibra.

We need two strikers and an attacking midfielder IMO but I can already see us running out of time to sign them.

That's all we will be doing I suspect. Let's be honest, if Dzeko is staying, for a one striker system Aguero, Dzeko and Guidetti, with Jovetic more than able to play second striker, we're not exactly crying out for another centre forward. Especially seen as Dzeko rarely gets seriously injured.

Negredo will play for Manchester City. It's all much more advanced than the president says publicly. The Sevilla also want to urge the arrival of Kevin Gameiro. The upcoming 48 hours will be key.

Dzeko and Guidetti!

Guidetti is totally unproven and won't be fit for another two months.

I'd prefer to see Dzeko leave, but buying three forwards is asking too much.

When I first found this site, you used to be calm, sensible & seemed to have a decent handle on things.

So now we are now less than 1% likely to get Negredo according to Sevilla's President. I understand the reasonings for wanting to look for a deal with a transfer fee but less than 1%? Yikes!

anyone think this deal might be fading away from us and we may just focus on jovetic and ibrahimovic?

How much Ibra? How Ibra wins? The annual tab Ibra is 14 million. Also Ibra is a problematic player. It may involve putting a problem in the locker room.

Get him signed he will be superb at city, he is one of those players who will become a cult figure, he's a goat waiting to happen.

I think the Jovetic signing has allowed us to re think this deal, I also think now Pellegrini has been assessing the squad in SA the priorities have changed and I believe we will be looking at a centre half and a left full back. We walked away from the Osvaldo deal (if we were ever involved) and we will do the same with Negredo. I do remember a long time ago before Pellegrini was appointed that he said that the player he wanted at the club besides Isco was Saurez. I can't see Ibra coming now he has decided to keep Dzeko. Jovetic can act as a striker but he himself reckons he is attack midfield. With Maicon leaving and Jovetic arriving we will still have a full 23 man squad for CL, we can add two players without any leaving but it means they can't play in CL. So with that in mind I suspect after Maicon leaving someone on the SA tour is going to be told if you want CL footie or guaranteed footie in all competitions we will assist in finding a new club, my favorites are Kolorov and Sinclair. Allowing Pepe and and left full back to come in Saurez might just be out of the blue so to speak at the end of the window no point paying his wages till end of August.
