The reality is if Edin is staying he will be the number 2. He will get plenty of games. What we need is a young up and coming striker as the number 3. If the rumours are true that Pelle likes Guidetti then I imagine it is highly unlikely we will be signing another striker.

However if Edin is fed up with his no 2 status then maybe he's off. In which case we would need someone experienced like Negredo to take his place. We then look a bit light if Kun is injured.

If we do buy a wide left player who can score then that would be very useful.

Then he would be stupid.

Guidetti hasn't kicked a ball in decent level football for a year & has no experience of the Premier League at all. To expect him to possibly lead the line in several key games at both Premier League & Champions League level, simply because we happen to have a couple of players with minor injuries at the same time, would be suicidally stupid & frankly, sackable.

Bang on...this blind Guidetti faith is getting tedious

From me its nowt to do with faith, He's shown he has the skill ( admitidly before the injury ) and we need to start to show that we have a path from the academy to the 1st team or we'll start to miss out on the youth players.

Either way, I'll trust Pellers on this one. If he thinks Guidetti is good enough for 3rd/4th striker then im more than happy with that. If they choose to send him on loan somewhere then thats fine too as long as there is cover.

LOL at people wanting us to sign Negredo.

From Balotelli and Tevez to Negredo.

NO THANKS.

Why are people happy with us buying this calibre of player when Arsenal are fighting hard for quality strikers like Higuain? Shouldn't we be interested in him instead? After all we are a much bigger proposition than Arsenal.

Last season we had better strikers than the likes of Juve and Bayern. However, they were clearly better than us. It's about building a team and getting the best out of the players.

Having 4 egotistical, expensive strikers ended in tears like most predicted it would. Yes it won us the title but it wasn't practical for the long-term.

Negredo 2012/2013: 42 apps 31 goals
Higuain 2012/2013: 44 apps 19 goals
Keep in mind the gap in quality of the two teams these guys are playing for. I'm not even that keen on Negredo but his record is pretty damn good, one better than most strikers in Europe and certainly better than the one of the alternative you have listed.

Yep, the man- child that was Mario who looked like he couldn't give a toss in his last season with us and Carlos Tevez, former top class player on the downward slide, or a Spanish international who netted 31 times last season ...mmmmmm........

Higuain has all the talent in the world... He also has a questionable lifestyle - allegedly - and a recurring back problem...
